kyo's pov

i got to my room and laid my head down on the desk. i hate feelings. these stupid, shitty feelings. what the hell does this even mean.

i sighed and admitted defeat, walking downstairs to my mother.

"mom." i awkwardly stood there and coughed.

"yeah? what's up?" she looked up from her phone and had a concerned expression.

"i.. need to talk to you. about someone." god. this is so fucking awkward.

"is everything okay? do i need to go to the school? i'll go right now and-"

i hesitated ."..about a girl."

she immediately froze and her expression softened. "oh" she smiled. "what about her?"

taking a deep breath, i sat across from my mom at the table. "y/n, the friends who's house i go to. she's new, been here for a month. she's the one who walked up to me and started everything."

i stopped picking at my hands and looked up at her. and she had a big ass smile on her face.

"that's great! that's really great, kentarō! so what exactly is the issue?"

i rolled my eyes. "i don't know. she's nice.. and pretty." i muttered under my breath.

"do you have a crush on her?"

"no she just- i feel weird when she's around me. like, happy i guess. she made me go to practice and the team kept making eyes at her."

"don't be an idiot, bro. you obviously have a crush on her." i heard my older sister shout from the couch.

i scoffed. "i thought you were sleeping."

"nope," she chuckled. "i was listening! and it's obvious you're developing feelings for this girl. maybe ask her on a date??"

"your sister is right, kentarō. ask her on a date. if she says no, at least you'll know where she stands."

i sighed. "it's barely been 4 weeks. she's gonna think i'm weird."

"well you don't need to call it a date. just offer to take her out. somewhere fun and casual but still intimate. and be confident. but not cocky!"  my sister gave me a pat on the back.

"this shit is too complicated. i'm just not gonna do anything."

"we're serious about this, kiddo." i slightly cringed at the nickname mom gave me. "she seems good for you. maybe invite her here for dinner or something? so you won't be uncomfortable around so many people? if you want to keep her in your life, she'll have to come around eventually."

i sighed, knowing she's probably right. i can't believe i told them.

and with that, i walked to my room. when should i even ask her?   should i ask now? is she busy?

i want to take her out. i groaned, leaning my head in the palm of my left hand.

after a few minutes, i thought of something i thought she'd like. i grabbed my phone and started scrolling to y/n's contact. confident, but not cocky,
