"hurry up kyo!" i looked over my shoulder and saw him walking agonizingly slow. he looked at me and rolled his eyes.

i huffed, walking behind him and pushing his back with my hands.

he stopped in his tracks, knowing i would barely be able to push him forward. i hit his shoulder and moved next to him. "hurry upppppp" i whined.

his eyebrows furrowed as started to walk again. "calm down, where are we even going?"

i smiled. "your house."

"for what?"

"so you can change."

he looked at me and squinted his eyes. "oh right, i didn't tell you yet. we're going out!"

kyo's ears got red and he started to cough. "oh," he cleared his throat. "why?"

"so i can properly say thank you for what you did. is that okay? i thought it would be since there's no practice because of the game today. we don't have to go though, i just think it's a nice idea-" i started to ramble.

"shut up. it's fine." kyotani mumbled, ears and cheeks bright red. i giggled. it's always fun to see the "tough and mean mad-dog" of aoba johsai get flustered.

when we got there, we were greeted by his mom. she had a resting scowl on her face, just like kyotani. but she smiled as soon as she saw me.

"y/n, it's nice to see you!! how've you been?? i see your cheek is healing, that's good!"

"mhm!! it's nice to see you too, reiko."

"and welcome back, kentaro! how was school?"

kyotani grumbled. "fine. we're gonna go now." he lightly grabbed my wrist and led me to his room. i plopped down on his bed while he grabbed some clothes and went to change in the bathroom.

damn. what if he doesn't like the spot i picked?? that'll be so embarrassing. what if he doesn't actually want to go and just said he did because he didn't want to make me feel bad??

soon enough, the door opened and kyotani was standing there, dressed. thank god. i don't think i could survive a repeat of the towel incident.

"don't we have to go to your house too?" he threw his uniform in his hamper.

i furrowed my eyebrows. "for what?"

"stupid. are you not going to change?"

i shot up and reached for my bag that was on the floor. "oh right!! my clothes are in my bag, so turn around." he blushed and turned to face the door.

when we were finished getting ready, we walked downstairs. "bye kiddos!! don't have too much fun!" reiko winked.

we walked in silence for a few minutes. our hands kept brushing together, both of us were too nervous to make the first move.

that is, until kyotani grabbed my hand and interlaced his fingers with mine. "if you wanted to hold hands, you could've just said something." he smirked.

"oh shut up!! i was getting to that." i rolled my eyes.

he just chuckled. "you never told me where we're going."  i looked down at our hands and smiled. "it's a surprise."
