°•. ⛵️ .•°yesterday was.. different without kyotani there. i spent the first half of lunch alone, but mattsun and makki saw me and let me sit with them. i had to walk home alone too. he wasn't in the hallways. him and i haven't known each other for a crazy amount of time, but i'd gotten used to him being around me everyday.
"so.. how's your face?" kyotani asked me.
my fingers grazed where i'd gotten punched, making me wince slightly. "it's fine. it doesn't hurt too bad."
i'm lying. it hurts a lot.it left a pretty nasty bruise. and i have a cut on my cheek. i put some concealer on to cover it, but i don't think i put enough. hikaru was wearing a ring, too. i guess he really wanted to do some damage. it's a miracle that kyotani didn't get any serious injuries.
"i can tell you're lying, dumbass. you look worse than i do and i'm the one that was fighting." he scolded. i can tell he's trying to hide his anger. he's not doing a very good job though. that scowl he always has looks a lot worse.
sighing, i let out an "i know.. but you shouldn't have fought him."
"whatever."
i tried to bring down the tension. "it was weird not having you here yesterday." i looked up at kyo who was walking next to me, heading to the gym for practice.
"oops."
i deadpanned at his response. "you got suspended for beating the shit out of someone, leaving me alone for the whole day, and all you have to say is 'oops?'"
he shrugged. "i'd do it again."
"yeah. i know you would, stupid." i bumped into his shoulder with my side and he did it back to me.
we ended up doing it until we got to the gym. we definitely looked like idiots.
he went to the locker rooms and i walked inside. i sat myself down on one of the benches.
i pulled out a paper from my bag, a test i took the other day. i got an 88.i huffed and blew a strand of hair from the front of my face. this is one of the lowest scores i've ever gotten. i've always been smart, that's how i transferred to a private school after the year started.
just as the rest of the boys walked in with their uniforms on, i started folding the paper. mattsun walked over to ask me what i was doing. when suddenly,
"you got an 88?? nice job."
i sighed, slightly smiling after seeing kyotani's head whip around to see what was wrong.
him, makki, oikawa, and iwaizumi broke off from the rest of the players to join in on our conversation.
i looked back down at the paper in my hand and nodded, "it's bad."
"what?" mattsun questioned. "that's one of my highest scores!"
i immediately felt bad but chuckled. "oh, sorry. it's just bad for me. my scores are usually a lot higher."
"what do you usually get?" makki raised an eyebrow.
"i dunno, high 90s?"
oikawa put his hands on his hips and leaned in. "our y/n is such a smartypants! who would've known?"
i got up from my seat and stood in front of him, he was now standing up straight.
i looked up at him with my eyebrows furrowed. "what is that supposed to mean, shittykawa?"
