Soon both of the boys were riding side by side through the night, making their way somewhere they didn't know.
"What's your name stable boy?" Louis asked.
"My name- is Henry." the boy answered with bit of hesitation in his voice.
"And your name?"
"My name is Louis."
"You are the prince of Evermore?"
Louis bursted out into a laugh. He knew he didn't have to hold back his laugh when he was accompanied by a stable boy. He would have to do that if he was accompanied by some of those princes but with Henry he could let his guard down."You were supposed to find a groom tonight, am I right?"
"How can you know that and still ask me for my name?"
"I haven't seen you- this is the first time."
"Well..." Louis glanced at the boy next to him."Wouldn't be fair if I got the chance to see you as well?" Louis really wanted to see the boy he has been talking to.
"I don't think you would like to see my face."
"Why not?"
"I am sure you would turn round and ride back into the palace."
"No, I am sure I wouldn't do that." Louis shook his head in disagreement.
"Alright." with that the boy took his hood down, relieving what was hidden underneath it.
As soon as Louis' eyes landed on him his breath hitched in his chest at how beautiful the boy was.
He had longer curly hair and face sculpted by the god himself. Although Louis could only see a part of his face, thanks to the moonlight above, he still was sure the boy's appearance was breathtaking.
"I think you are indeed very beautiful." Louis glanced at him before he spurred his horse to run faster.
Henry kept staring at Louis, who was quickly disappearing from his sight, in disbelief. When he managed to snap himself back into reality he spurred his own horse as well.
"Go, Damon!" the stallion began to run as if a bunch of wolves was haunting him, the black horse soon being ahead of Louis' Nova.
When they arrived to the verge of the woods Henry announced they should make a fire.
"The horses are thirsty." he looked around in attempt to find a river or some lake.
"The river is just about one mile from here." Louis said back, letting Nova walk in circles.
"Lead me." Henry chuckled.
"Follow me then."The boys soon arrived to the river, where they decided to spend their first night.
Louis got down from Nova's back, taking her equipment down as well. Henry did the same with his horse.
They tethered both of them to the tree that was growing nearby."We should find some wood to make a fire." Louis stated. They both tried to find as much as they could. They were lucky becuase they really have found quite a lot of dry branches around.
"I have a tinderbox." Henry announced when Louis created a pile from some smaller branches.
Henry was good with tinderbox as Louis found out. Soon the fire was giving them both light and warmth.
"Did you steal it?" Louis asked curiously while pointing to the tinderbox.
"No, my friend gave it to me a long time ago."
"Beg me a pardon then."
"It's alright." Henry smiled at Louis before he put the tinderbox away.Louis was becoming quite hungry now. He realized he hasn't eaten anything since this morning.
Just then he noticed that the boy next to him had something packed with him. He saw how he unwrapped a scarf in which were hidden bread and some sweet pastries.
Louis' stomach rumbled at the sight next to him.
The green eyed boy picked up one of the pastries, taking his first bite.Henry noticed Louis' stare few moments later.
"Here." he said, bringing the pastrie up to Louis' mouth, offering it to him.
Louis took a bite carefully while also managing to steal much closer glance at the boy next to him.
Thanks to the fire Louis was finally able to see his face in all it's beauty. He had big green eyes and he really looked beautiful, just as Louis had said some time back.
"It's good." he said after he had swallowed what he had in his mouth.
"Take another one." the green eyed boy brought the pastrie to Louis' mouth once again. The boys both stared into each other's eyes while Louis was taking his second bite. They could both feel that weird tingly feeling settling inside of them.
"Thank you." Louis felt much better even though he ate just a little bit. He didn't need much.
"I have some water here." Henry brought out a bottle as well.
"Can I?" Louis asked."Of course." the stable boy chuckled, handing it over to him.
Louis drank quickly, but he also made sure to leave enough water for Henry.
"Thank you for sharing with me." he wiped his mouth afterwards, lying down onto his back.
"You would do the same." Henry joined him after he drank some of the water as well. The boys were just lying there, staring at the dark night sky, and the billions of shining stars that were hanging above their heads.
