Jayden Leywin

"I'm not sure about Jayden, but I'd been meaning to start teaching my baby sister in mana manipulation sometime soon. It's not too much trouble to include your daughter in these lessons as well.

I noticed you and Mrs. Tabitha aren't mages so it would be entirely impossible for her to awaken by herself, but I believe if we start now, she might be able to awaken around the average age," Arthur said.

The statement was left with an expected silence, and he looked up to see Vincent drop the stack of papers he'd been fumbling with nervously. I could practically hear his heart beating faster as he stood there frozen.

"C-can I truly believe what you just said? Can you really allow my daughter to become a m-mage?" He stuttered after a seemingly long moment of silence.

"Sure. It'll be a long process but it's definitely possible. Er... I will have to ask you to keep the lessons on a low profile though. I would hate to be bombarded with doting parents asking to make their children into mages," he just chuckled, trying to lighten up the tension.

He nodded furiously after failing to form a coherent sentence.

"Sincerely... there would be no greater happiness than seeing my daughter become a mage," he managed to stammer out, tears on the verge of falling down.

"Great! Then I'll leave the items we discussed to you! Now, allow me to excuse myself out. Sorry for intruding in on your work."

He walked out of the room, picking up the sleeping Sylvie from his lap.

I'm glad that worked out well.

I turned to Vincent. "Mr. Vincent, I won't be able to help your daughter as often as Arthur can, but I'll be sure to help her speed up the process. You have my word when I say aside from me, there's no one better at mana manipulation than Arthur. I'll take my leave as well."

I made my way out of the room, where Arthur was waiting for me just outside.

"Oi, are you really sure about this? I can start her off, and I know I said she'd be able to awaken at the normal age, but if you assist me, that'll go by even faster, you know," Arthur said.

I poked his head. "Please learn to use this in times like these. It's better for her to awaken as soon as possible and get used to her core. If she awakens at the normal age, she'll have a weak core. I can forcibly take her to Red core when she awakens, but we need her to improve or else we're gonna have a lot more on our plate."

"Whaddya mean forcibly take her to Red stage? I took a total of like 1 year and a half to reach this far. She's gonna need a lot of work to reach Red stage." Arthur tilted his head in confusion.

"Pshaw. I could take her to Orange if I wanted to. Red stage is just the furthest I can go without dealing big damage to her body. If I awaken too many stages at once, she won't be able to take it. I'll at least bring her to Orange core by the time you get back from Adventuring."

"Jesus, you really are a monster. Does that mean you're gonna be like White core by the time you get back or something?" He sighed exasperated.

"Yes. Why?"

He deadpanned me. "I'll personally let you read everything from my past if you really do reach White core in two years."

"Deal. I could probably reach beyond White core if I did the three years like you, anyway, so what's two?"

"Whatever. I'm gonna go train in my room," he sighed.

"Take it easy if you're gonna use that," I warned.
