"The greatest happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved; loved for ourselves, or rather, loved in spite of ourselves." -Victor Hugo
It's been over two weeks since Finn and I went out. He's been away on a business trip so we haven't spoken much. I still feel his kisses on my face, his hand on my waist. I've spent almost every night at Liz and Luke's, I even brought Casper over to stay with them. But today is Sunday which means I'm meeting Henry for our weekly breakfast at Sally's. I grab my stuff and head out early, Luke is snoring from his bedroom and Liz is in her bed, face down and completely knocked asleep. I tip toe out of the apartment, petting Casper as I leave and softly closing the door behind me. I sling my spring jacket on and catch a cab to the motel.
Henry finally locks the door and turns around, "let's go my dear! Breakfast is a-waiting!"
Sliding into the booth, Lainey our usual waitress, doesn't even bother taking our orders. She slides two milkshakes across the table and sets down Henry's usual order-eggs, bacon, toast, and a side of oatmeal with brown sugar. I've been slowly making my way through the entire breakfast menu on our weekly trips but the bananas foster French toast is by-far my favorite. Of course I tell Henry all about my date with Finn. He smiles as he listens to every word, laughing along with me. "Just be careful dear, it's a crazy world out there." He pays the check and we head back to the motel. I told Dave I'd come in today to tie up some loose ends before the wee starts. We have another string of shows this weekend so he wants to make sure things are in order.
Sliding the key into the front door, I lock it once I'm inside. Flashing all the lights on I start by sweeping and mopping the floor. For some reason, it's always sticky. I made sure there was enough cups at the bar, wires in place, sound system working. Just when I thought everything was set, my phone rings. "Hey Dave, what's up?"
"Hey, I was wondering if you could run into my office and look at the show schedule, I'm having trouble viewing it at home." I head to the back office and unlock the door, sliding into his computer chair. Once he gives me the password, which is 'Password4567' by the way, opening the show schedule for him. "Okay, do we have anything on Friday, June 14th?" I scroll through the months and booked days. "Looks free!"
"Alright, schedule City Lights for their show that night. It's a home show so it's going to be wild. I'll need extra staff and security so please just make a note in there so I remember." I add everything in and hang up. I guess City Lights is coming back to town.

Finn picked me up from the venue and we went to get dinner. The place seemed fancier than those I'm used too and I feel severely underdressed. His suit still in mint condition like he'd walked out from a Men's Warehouse magazine. It doesn't compare to my black romper with printed stockings and boots. "Wow, that was the best meal I've had here." I lean back in my chair, if my pants had buttons, they would be undone at this point. He tops off the wine he bought for us, since they didn't even ask for his ID, polishing it off. He smiles, placing his credit card on the table. Once we're ready, he leads me out to his car and I slide into the seat. "Hey, a few of my friends are going out this weekend if you're interested? You can bring your friends if you want. We were probably going to go dancing and hit up some local bars. It'd be nice to have you with me." I feel my cheeks burn, nodding my head before my mouth can find the words.
Naturally, Liz lost her ever loving mind. She and Andy have been going pretty steady since they talked at the show back in March and have been texting almost every minute since. And my god the phone sex has me wearing ear plugs on the couch. I've been crashing with them since it's closer to work than the motel. I feel bad for leaving Henry alone but he's been pretty busy with customers as it begins to get warm out. I offered to move out so he could rent out my room but I was met with "hush" and "nonsense" so that was the end of that conversation.
