A/N
Hallo Leute! Just wanted to let you know that Lena WHIFF99 just started writing a new Max book and I'm helping with a couple of ideas... you should definitely check that out!Requested by: Delancey3
Go to one of my races, please...
You and Max Verstappen had been dating for around a year now. It was probably the most private and secret relationship the dutchman had ever had. His previous relationship with Kelly Piquet had been very open to the world, but you didn't love the idea of people getting involved in your relationship.
You decided to keep your relationship a secret so nothing would get in the way of your happiness, and that your problems as a couple were kept personal. This included: No social media appearances, no live support during race weekends, no direct support on social media and being extremely careful not to be seen out together. This to keep the speculation to the lowest and so people wouldn't start to make up any rumors about the relationship or to them, possible relationship.
Max didn't mind this at all because of how relationships in the past had gotten ruined because of the haters and media in general. Although he didn't like getting into the social part of his job, he still wanted you supporting him during race weekends. He knew you enjoyed traveling and wished you could tag along during a couple of races in the calendar.
He hadn't really expressed this much, but he knew he had to do it soon. The relationship had been going great and you had had a whole year to get to know each other and figure out how you could help each other and communicate so the media wouldn't get in the way of your relationship.
You were out for dinner and it was a very calm evening. Max was feeling a little bit nervous but you couldn't quite guess why. After trying to put the two and two together and being unable to, you decided to ask what was going through his mind. "You look nervous, Max. A penny for your thoughts?" You asked.
He looked at you for a moment and quickly looked away. You knew he was thinking about whether to tell you the truth or not. "You know you can tell me and I won't judge whatever it is thats got you so worked up." You reassured.
"I know you won't judge, it's more about whether I'll be able to convince you or not. I don't know how to make you agree." He finally explained, quite vaguely but it was a start.
"Well, maybe say what you need to and then we will see if what's on your mind is something I could possibly be against." You kept assuring.
He sighed. "Well, it's just that it's been a year since we started dating and all I want to do is be able to have your support directly on track and not have to wait to celebrate with the woman I love until I'm back home. What I'm trying to say is that I want you to attend my races. I would love to have you there and I promise it is a lot of fun and I will try my best to win the races you attend." He expressed.
What he requested was far something you had thought he would ask. You hadn't really talked about attending his races and you knew it was meant to happen at some point. You had your schedule really busy and attending most races seemed impossible. Even some of the ones that were near overlapped with your job. It didn't have to do with the fact that you wanted to keep things private rather that you had a busy few weeks coming up.
"You know I would love to but my job doesn't allow me to go to a ton of races and be there. My work demands a lot of my presence. Plus I don't know if that's the best way to make our relationship public Max." You explained your concerns. Both your points were valid but Max seemed sad about what you had said.
"Y/n, go to one of my races please. I'm not asking for the whole season just one race. Not even practices and qualy, just the race. I'll try to hide you from the world if that's what you want. But for my personal sanity and happiness I need you there." Max begged, trying to convince you.
"I don't mind being seen as long as the media doesn't get in the way of us. I will always want and be there to support you but it's hard when I've as much stuff to do as you do." You explained and Max nodded. "Although, I've heard the French GP is coming up next week and I might have a free weekend there." You continued. Max smiled.
He hugged you and kissed your forehead, then all over your face until he found your lips. "You have no idea how happy this makes me." He expressed.
You just kissed back. You tried to express your feelings through the kiss, you were just as happy as he was.
