Day 2, May 13th
I’m not doing the ‘Dear Diary’ stuff anymore. Claryse would say it was too girly.
It’s about 11:00 in the morning, almost lunchtime. I can’t figure out how to buy the radio/laptop without leaving. I can’t really give my credit card to a stranger, and I don’t really have many friends. Claryse took up too much of my time. I’ll get it eventually.
My boss called today, wondering why I wasn’t at work. I told her that I was waiting for my girlfriend to come back. She said “Oh” and hung up. She didn’t sound very happy. She never does. I wonder if it’s because she quit a well-paid job at an important law firm, I don’t remember which one, to be an office drone at a local accounting business. I guess I’ll never know.
I already miss Bernard. He was my dog before I sent him to my brother so I could stay on the corner. He’s a golden retriever-lab mix and is 8 years old. He was my best friend, although he didn’t like Claryse much. He always wagged his tail when he saw me and he’d bark at the TV when it was on.
Last night was cold. I might have to bring another blanket from my apartment. I wasn’t disturbed, just looked at. I think I’ll make myself some coffee tonight to have in the morning.
