Day 37, June 17th

My story has appeared in almost every major newspaper in town. People are stopping by to see me all the time. They really like Mally, and I even introduce them to Archie. They don’t like him as much. The news station even sent a reporter down with a cameraman to get a story on TV. After that, people started to give me money. I try to refuse, but they make me take it. Some even try to pay Archie. He always takes it.

I let Mally keep the money. She’s the one that can move off the corner for more than an hour. She buys our food, and even had enough to buy herself a new blanket. Archie’s been keeping his wages to himself, with the excuse that we make more money than he does.

It turned out that I didn’t have a cold, just mild allergies.

Mally came back from buying dinner two days ago and told me that she had seen a magazine with a girl on it that looked just like how I had described Claryse. Mike lent us the money, and she went back and bought it. She was right, it was Claryse. She made it into the big fashion world. I was so proud of her.
