Day 54, July 4th
Mike brought us a mini TV so that we could watch our story as it aired. The station made me seem noble and even made Archie look like a better person. Mally was the best out of all of us, I thought, although everyone else says that I was. She was the one that promoted my ‘nobility’. She didn’t like watching her part.
Even Mike was interviewed. He told the story of the time before Mally came, when a drunk man tried to start a fight with me. Mike arrested the man for an attempted DWI. When we saw that part, I reminded Mike that he was a wonderful policeman. It made him laugh. He told me that the story aired on every news station in a three state radius.
People are coming to visit me every day. There is always a big crowd around me and Mally. I think Archie feels a little left out, but ever since the interview, more people have been talking to him. I get people from new states at least once every two days. I always ask where they’re from because if I get one from New York City, then maybe Claryse saw the broadcast too and will be coming for me soon.
My brother came to visit me with Bernard in tow. He said that every time I was on TV, Bernard started howling, and that they couldn’t keep him if he was going to do that. I didn’t care. I have my best friend back now.
