Day 3, May 14th

Someone tried to give me money yesterday. I think they saw my empty coffee cup and thought I was a beggar, so they took a five out of their wallet and stuffed it in the cup. I had to explain to them that I didn’t need it. It was actually kind of funny.

I finished the Guide. I read it from front to back, but I still have no idea how to plumb. I don’t know if that’s a real word, but I don’t know the verb for plumbing. Maybe I’ll read the dictionary one of these days. Probably not. That’s a little too boring, even for me.

Not much went on the past few days. Just the normal strange glances as people walked past. Someone’s kid asked me what I was doing, but the mom pulled him away before I could answer. Every night I’ve had to sprint to get to my apartment in enough time to take a shower, brush my teeth, and make dinner before I had to go back. I’m running out of food at home; I’ll have to get my dinners at the store from now on.

I got fired today. I’m not sure how I’ll pay for everything. Maybe I’ll go on welfare. I don’t think I should start taking homeless contributions.

I miss Claryse and Bernard. Mostly Claryse.
