y/n, pick up your phone! Please! I'm worried!

You turned your phone on silent. You have been getting texts from Nomi for hours now. You knew she was worried and wanted to see you but you didn't want to go back to MI6. James would be there. Thank god Nomi wasn't there 'cause she'd have already broken down the door and dragged you by the ear back to MI6. Hypothetically. Your room was still a mess. You hadn't brought up the energy to clean. Your phone kept vibrating. More texts from Nomi. You sighed and grabbed your phone.

I'm not dead Nomi, I just don't want to talk.

Nomi's response was instant.

Well, you have to. Me and James are worried.

James isn't worried! He's happy I'm not here because Madeleine said something about me!

I get how you feel y/n.

No, you don't!

You turned your phone off fully and put it pracasiasly on top of your overturned bedside table. You laid down on your bed and closed your eyes. Sleep decided not to come. Maybe it believed what Madeleine said. Who knows. Or maybe it's a part of you telling you to get out of bed and do something. You ignored that thought. You got up and propped your bedside table upright and placed your phone on it. Now it was the only thing upright, besides your bed, in the room.

Sleep finally decided to come three hours later. Your dreams were full of James and Madeleine's faces. They were saying things like 'you're not good enough' and 'you're evil just because your father left'. Sleep kept you in the dream even though you were struggling to open your eyes.

"You don't deserve to be an MI6 agent."

"You're just like your father."

"Madeleine was right to not trust you."

"Go, run to your little daddy for help."

"SHUT UP!" You screamed into nothingness. Wet hot tears were seeping down your face when you opened your eyes. James and Madeleine's words still floated around in your head. You don't deserve to be an MI6 agent. You're just like your father. Madeleine was right not to trust you. Go, run to your little daddy for help. The last one stung the most. Go, run to your little daddy for help. There was a knock on the door.

"Open up y/n, I know you're in here." Nomi said. You sighed.

"The doors unlocked." The door opened and Nomi stepped inside.

"God, what happened here?" She remarked when she saw your room.

"What do you want Nomi?" You asked.

"I was just checking in on how you were." Nomi said. "How are you?"

"You know I'm not fine." You said. "After what James said, how could I be? He doesn't trust me anymore. All because of Madeleine."

"How was it all because of Madeleine?" Nomi asked.

"Don't act clueless!" You said. "You were there! He said that Madeleine didn't trust me so he didn't trust me."

"I know he said that." Nomi said. "He didn't know what he was saying."

"Don't protect him!" You said, closing the door. Nomi pushed it back open.

"I'm not protecting him!"

"It sure seems like you are!"

"Look, I'm sorry for what James said. He didn't have the right to say that."

"You got that right." You said, moving to close the door again but Nomi blocked it.

"I think you should talk to him." She stated.

"What?"

"You heard what I said." Nomi said. "I think you should talk to him."

"I'm not talking to him!" You said. Nomi stepped backward. James appeared in the doorway.

"Hello y/n." You slammed the door in his face.
