Chapter twenty-one: Liar

"Thank you for stopping them y/n." M said. "How many men were there?"

"I didn't take the time to count." You said.

"Did any escape?" M asked.

"No." You said. "Why are you asking me this? I got them. They didn't save Safin, Logan, and Primo."

"True." M said. "You did a good job 008."

"I know." You said.

"Can you grab Nomi? I need to talk to her about what happened."

"Yes sir." You walked out. "M wants to talk to you Nomi." You told Nomi.

"Okay." Nomi got up out of the chair she was sitting in and walked towards M's office. "Wish me luck y/n." You rolled your eyes.

"Good luck." Nomi closed the door.

"I wonder what they're talking about in there." You said, sitting on Moneypenny's desk. Moneypenny was oblivious. You shrugged and walked away. "What if M is secretly giving Nomi a mission! He did that last time!"

"That could be true." You said.

"M left you out! Maybe he doesn't trust you!"

"That's a big maybe." You said.

"A big true maybe." The other you sat down on your bed as you closed your apartment door. You sat down on your desk chair and spun around. "It's possible y/n."

"I know." You said. "And I don't want to think about it."

"Wimp."

"I'm not a wimp!" You jumped up and faced the other you. "I'm not!"

"Keep telling yourself that." The other you vanished.

"I'll do that." You said. Your phone vibrated. It was Nomi. "Hey Nomi. Did M give you a mission?"

"Yeah actually," Nomi said brightly. "How did you know?"

"Last time M talked to you privately in his office I couldn't contact you for two days and then I had to save you from my fathers men." You said.

"Oh." Nomi said. "That was a secret one."

"A secret one?" You asked.

"No one was supposed to know." Nomi said. "I was supposed to get in and out."

"What's the new mission?" You asked, slightly annoyed.

"More Safin stuff." Nomi said. "I have to see if there are any more of his men out there."

"Can I help?" You asked.

"M said only I can do it."

"Then why are you telling me?!" You asked. "Are you just rubbing it in my face?!"

"No, y/n!" Nomi said. "I was just telling you!"

"Yeah it sounded like you 'were just telling me'!" You hung up.

Nomi went on the mission and came back in one piece. She had found one of your fathers men and had brought him in. She didn't talk to you or look at you. Maybe she was still sour about the conversation you had had the other day.

"Congratulations agent!" M said proudly to Nomi. "You found one of Safin's men!" So? You thought. Me and some other MI6 agents took on a bunch of my dad's men and didn't get hurt! She just brought back one! You're welcome for saving her. "You do missions like a double o! Well, you were formally one." M said. "We should make you 008!" What?! But I'm 008! Nomi smiled.

"We should do that." She said, smirking. She looked at you and stuck her tongue out at you. She noticed the pain written across your face and turned away.

"They don't like you anymore." The other you said, picking her nails. "Not that they ever did."

"We'll do that!" M said. "We'll make you 008!" That's it.

"Seriously M!" You said. "Did you forget about the actual 008?" M looked at you. "I know Nomi did something good but who freed her from Safin's men? Me and some other MI6 agents!"

"y/n..." M said.

"Don't." You said. "I should have known. I should have known that you would do something like this."

"Like what?" Nomi asked.

"Take away my job because some MI6 agent brought back one bad guy follower!" You say. "You know what, I'm done. You can have my job, I don't care. I quit." You walked away.
