"Wake up, you're already late!" I hear my mom yelling from the other room. I take my phone to see what time it is: 7.30 am, in half an hour my first class begins. I get up from bed, feeling a little dizzy, but I run to the toilet in a complete hurry and then I get dressed up really quickly. I take my backpack, a sandwich that my mom put there for me and I leave the house, without even say goodbye to my parents. I run to the bus stop and take off my phone to call Skylar.

"Mornin'. Where are you?" I hear her happy voice.

"God, how can you be so happy even on Mondays?" I chuckle "I'm on my way. I may be late to Math. Can you tell Mr. Jones that I will arrive? Maybe that way he won't note me as withdrawn" I ask her hopping she won't be late, as I will.

"Yeah, sure. Are you coming to the camp?"

Oh shit, I forgot to tell my parents about the "free one week camp", some kind of gift that the mayor gives to the best students of each school of the city. Somehow, me and Skylar are on that list, and today is the last day to give the answer.

"No, I forgot, I will call them now. Wish me luck" I tell her and hang out, without letting her to respond. I type my mom's number while I get into the bus that arrived 2 seconds ago. I can't really say that I want to go to this camp, but Skylar seems so happy about this idea and she really wants me to come, and I can't let her down, she's my bestfriend.

"Yes honey" I hear my mom's voice after the second ring.

"Mom, I really need to ask you something. I forgot to tell you about this free camp that's only for the best students in each school, it's the next
week and I intended to go there with Sky" I say on the most cute voice I can make.

"Where are you going?"

"Somewhere near Sydney, Australia. I know it's far but it's a great opportunity for me to visit Australia and it will be great" I try to convince her.

"I will call you in 5 minutes, I'm going to speak with your dad but I think it will be all right" she says softly.

"Okay, I love you, mom."

"I love you too" she says and hang up.

After three minutes, my phone starts playing my favorite song - Demons from Imagine Dragons.

"Yes" I answer immediately.

"I talked to your father and you can go, but don't forget you owe me this" she chuckle.

"Thank you mom, you're the best, I love you" I say and hang up.

I don't really know why I want so much to go, but I really do. I'm not really adventurous, but somehow I really want to go to Australia. I text Skylar that I'm going and I put my phone in my backpack. When I raise my head I see that I'm at my high school's station. Gosh, I hate this freshman year. It has been only one month since the school started and it's already quite hard to keep up with all this homework. In middle school things were better. I throw my backpack on my shoulder and get off the bus. In the school yard I see like 50 students, so the first class hasn't started. I start looking for Skylar when I see her on our regular bench talking to some people. As I get closer to them, I recognize all of them. They were part of our group. I go there and say a hi to all of them.

"You aren't late, I see" laughes Skylar

"I suppose the bus arrived quicker than I thought" I say looking at my phone. "5 minutes earlier" I chuckle.

"Let's go to the English teacher to give you to complete those papers for the camp" Skylar says taking my hand.

"Are you coming?" I hear Andrew's voice. He is that type of "all a girl wants" boy, very tall with dark hair and dark eyes, but he isn't really my type.
