Practise, Duke had lost five consecutive games.
"It isn't good enough!" Coach roared. His voice echoing in the silent gym.
"You can't get rebounds! Let alone your excuses for defence!"
He them grabbed five men by their shirts one by one and threw a ball in Turners chest, sending him back a good step.
"I won't you lot on offence, switch every basket at every basket the defensive team will do 30 press-ups"
A small chorus of groans followed.
After the drill, Rick had got 12 baskets. This made him feel guilty but whenever he passed the ball on an open shot opportunity, the coach Jonson would give him a look that made him feel uneasy.
"Ok!" Coach yelled " same teams, full court game, 15 minutes"
Eight minutes into the game, Ricky ran the ball up the court and say a good opportunity for a layup. He sprinted passed the teams second point guard- Greg Davies and was inches to t basket. He jumped and suddenly the teams Center- George Watts at a huge 6'9" leaped out from nowhere and jumped as well. The two smashed together and Ricky flew back, collapsing into a heap on the gyms cold, firm wooden flaw.
