Dearest Child

Sweetest child, dearest one,

Wipe away your little tears

Dry you eyes, do not weep

Even though you are young in years

Sweetest chid, dearest one,

Trust me, you will soon know why

Why he had to do what he did

Why he had to die

Sweetest child, dearest one,

It was for your brother and for you

That he came to this stone table

And sacrificed his life for you

Sweetest child, dearest one,

Lift you gentle sad eyes

Look up to the east

Where the sun doth rise

Sweetest child, dearest one,

Smile through the tears you cried

Look he has risen from the dead

There He stands, He is alive!
