This poem was inspired by The Last Battle, when we find out that Susan is no longer a friend of Narnia. The poem is from the view point of Lucy, who watches helplessly as Susan goes about her own way and forgets Narnia and Aslan

Come Back

You said it was just a game,

And we are older now.

You said it wasn't real,

That we had made it up somehow.

You said the games are over,

We must put our toys aside,

And I can not help but wonder,

Susan, have you become blind?

You know, you know it is all real,

Why are you going astray?

You know it is the truth,

Susan, why do you turn away?

You said you just grew up,

You want to walk a different road,

The light was right in front of you,

Susan, why did you choose the cold?

You say that you are grown now,

More of the world you wish to know,

But now that you have strayed from Him,

Susan, where will you go?

I watch helplessly as you depart,

I stand on the doorstep and ask

Why did you choose to leave?

Oh dearest Susan, please come back!
