5. Why can't you accept it?

Chaeyoung visited her parents as Jisoo tagged along, a nice little visit. Chaeyoung held a cake she specially baked for them and Jisoo held the basket of pastries, they both walk up to the house as Chaeyoung takes a deep breath before knocking on the door.

It opens to reveal a small little boy that had a smile on his face,

"Nuna!" His eyes brighten as Chaeyoung smiles happily back at him.

"Is mom and dad home?" She asks as the little boy nods quickly, he opens the door wider letting the two in. Jisoo waves at him causing him to wave back,

"Is she your friend?" He asks as Chaeyoung nods, "She's very pretty."

"Hmm? Ah! Chaeyoung!" She heard her sister scream happily causing Chaeyoung to walk over while setting the cake on the table.

"It's been forever!" Her sister hugs her and looks over her shoulder seeing Jisoo talk to their cousin, "my future sister-in-law?" She questions as Chaeyoung slaps her back.

"Shut up."

"Hello! I'm Alice! I'm Chae's older sister!" Alice says as Jisoo smiles,

"I'm Jisoo."

"It's lovely to meet the girlfriend of my sister!" Alice gushes, "wait! Don't forget to say hi to mom and dad!" She reminded Chaeyoung.

"Ah..." Chaeyoung smiled but Jisoo saw it was different, it wasn't as bright when seeing her sister or cousin. Why?

Jisoo stands beside Chaeyoung's cousin as Alice takes her sister to their parents, she feels a tug on her dress as she looks down at the boy.

"Wanna play with the others?" He asks politely as Jisoo accepts and follows him-

"CHAEYOUNG!"

Her Aunts, older cousins, and parents acknowledged her as she touched her earlobe, she smiles as her aunts approached her causing her to touch her ear more.

"How are you?"

"Have you been dating anyone?"

"How're your studies?"

"What kind of job do you have?"

"Yah! Let her be" Her father says pushing past them, "Welcome home." He smiles warmly as Chaeyoung nervously chuckled,

"Oh! Chaeyoung brought someone!" Alice says, "we'll see them during dinner!" She wrapped her arm around her sister.

"Wonderful! More food for Everyone!" One of her aunts says before the others agreed, still no sight of her mother.

"Where's mom?" Chaeyoung asks as Her father looks around,

"She was here a second ago, probably in her room." He says, "oh, the food should be ready soon!"

"Okay." She says before heading to the living room and passing the hallway to the "Cousin room" she does the three knocks before the door opened.

All her cousins looked up and back at the screen as Jisoo was playing against one of them, she shakes her head before sitting downside Jisoo.

"How was it?" Jisoo asks as she focused on the game,

"Eh." Chaeyoung says as her cousins made comments on how good her girlfriend was, "They like you."

"Dude! She's good!" Her eldest cousin says, "Where did you get here?!"

"What if I told you we're dating?" Chaeyoung asks as her cousins all stopped to look at them,

"Your lucky you have a gamer girlfriend." The 15-year-old boy says as he was battling Jisoo, "Lucky you."

"Good I guess?"

"Eh, cool."

"She's too cool for you."

"See I'm cool." Jisoo says as Chaeyoung laughs, "yah!"

"Sure you are." Chaeyoung nudged her as Jisoo continued to beat each cousin at their game.

"Dinner is served!"

Her father announced as everyone crowded the table, Chaeyoung pulled Jisoo's chair out and pushed her in before sitting beside her. Her mother joins as Chaeyoung looks over with a glance, they all fix their plates before Her favorite aunt speaks.

"So Chaeyoung, who's your friend?"

"Actually about that..." Chaeyoung clears her throat nervously as Jisoo saw her touch her ear, "Mom? Dad?"

"This is Jisoo, My girlfriend," Chaeyoung says as her family grew quiet, "We've been dating for quite a while now."

"I see, well Jisoo, I hope you grow to feel comfortable around us." Her father says as Jisoo looks at him with a small smile,

Questions spread like wildfire as Jisoo answered them, Chaeyoung felt her mother's eyes on her but continued to eat. Her family was accepting Jisoo or at least she thinks, After dinner, The kids pulled Jisoo to the gaming room causing Chaeyoung to be cleaning with her sister.

"That went well," Alice says as Chaeyoung smiles,

"You think so?"

"I know so..." Alice says before seeing her aunts all leave the kitchen, "She's great."

"Yeah..." Chaeyoung says to herself before walking back to the kitchen to place the dishes in. She turns around before Jisoo stands there,

"Hey," Chaeyoung says as Jisoo looks at her angrily, "Is something wrong?"

"How could you?" Jisoo says as Chaeyoung looks at her confused, "How could you hide it from me?"

"What's going on?" Chaeyoung's mother walks in as everyone watches the couple argue,

"Hide what?!" Chaeyoung asks confused, but Jisoo threw the paper on the floor. Chaeyoung's mother picks it up and sees the words on the page, she looks at her daughter in disbelief.

"You're dying?" Chaeyoung's father asks as Chaeyoung looks at Jisoo in fear,

"You hid this from me?"

"I-" but words couldn't form. "I didn't want you to know"

"You're selfish!" Jisoo shouts, "why didn't you tell me?" Her voice cracked as Chaeyoung looks at the ground in sadness.

"Because... I lost you."
