♡◌‧ 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘯𝘦It's been 63 days since the outbreak. 63 days since the worlds completely changed. I've seen people die. But they weren't who they really were, they were different. It's a disease we're all infected with, no matter how you die; you come back, you change. You die and you become a rotted corpse with no recollection of who you are, only wanting to feast on the livings flesh. It's sad, cruel, but it's the way the world is now. Theres nothing you can do to change that. The only way to stop someone from turning or kill the turned are to impale them through their brain. Otherwise.. you're done for.
My two brothers, Merle the oldest, and Daryl the second oldest, and I, have been on our own since the beginning. Honestly longer than that, our father was an abusive drunk no good, our mother on the other hand wasn't much either. She basically neglected us and herself till her death. We didn't necessarily have the best life beforehand, but i really do miss those beautiful Georgia mountains.
I never got to properly introduce myself, names Willow Dixon, I'm twelve years old, brown hair, light green eyes, and i've always wanted to write a book, tell a story. I'm also really into manifestation, the everything happens for a reason and the rains good for the soul type of vibe. I learned how to hunt and track around the ripe age of eight. Which ultimately comes in pretty damn handy now. I-
"Merle's going on a run with the others, I'm gonna stay here with you." Daryl interrupted my journaling session. I looked up at him closing the book and setting the pencil down.
"You don't have to stay with me.. I'm safe here i'll be fine, go." I said
"I know you'd be safe but i'm not gonna leave you alone. If something happens and we're separated, Willow I cant-" I nodded "I know" I smiled and hugged Merle goodbye. Merle wasn't very good at showing any emotions but anger sometimes. He's not the best at communicating but i know Daryl and I mean the world to him. "I'll be back lil sister, nothing can stop Merle Dixon" Merle laughed, facing away from us as him, Glenn, and others got in the vehicles and left. I know I never say it, but I worry a lot.. about losing them, something happening. It eats me alive everyday.
"You alright?" Daryl said wrapping an arm around my shoulder, I was sitting on top of the RV looking out towards the road.
"mhm" I said not looking away.
"You're worried about him, I know, but he'll be back. they'll all be alright. You know how he is." He said looking at me. I nodded looking at him.
"Stop putting so much stress on yourself." he said kissing my head and left.I sat there for a little while longer. I didn't mean to, but my thoughts were distracted watching the stars. You never realize how pretty parts of nature are until it's all you see.
"They're pretty aren't they"
I jumped and turned around to see Carl sitting next to me, his legs dangling off the side of the RV.
"They really are" i nodded.
"I uh I didn't mean to scare you.. I wanted to get away from my mom and Shane for a while and saw you alone, I thought you might like some company." Carl looked at me.
"You let me have one of the hot cocoa packets you have stashed and I think we have a deal." I smiled
"Deal" he laughed.
————————————————————"BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP.."
I woke up to a car alarm going off. I groaned and groggily got out of my tent. Carl and I stayed up half the night star gazing, drinking hot chocolate, and just talking. I was tired to say the least. I ran over to where the others were. The car alarm has stopped and Glenn had just finished talking to everyone as a truck pulled up behind him, which the others were in. I saw Daryl walking towards me, he was sitting down by the bank when i got out of my tent, he looked almost upset.. maybe angry? I assumed he was coming to talk to Merle but instead he pulled me aside.
"Daryl wait i wanna see Merle-" I tried to walk away but he grabbed me again by the shoulders, he looked at me and sighed."W-what.. Daryl what is it?" I asked, I could see the guilt in his eyes. Something was wrong.
"Willow.. he's alive.. you know how our brother is. He gets angry, aggressive, he apparently put their lives at risk. They chained him to the rooftop at a building in Atlanta. They said they'd go back for him soon. I'm sorry." He said looking past me.
For a minute I stood there. Trying to take in what he just said."THEY CHAINED MY BROTHER TO A ROOFTOP. FOR CHRISTS SAKES HE COULD DIE. I KNOW HOW HE IS. I KNOW. BUT THOSE WALKERS. THEY-"
"Willow.." Daryl spoke softly. Everyone was looking at us now. I couldn't help it. My brothers are all I have and they left him there to die. I looked at Daryl, tears threatening to fall from my eyes, my limbs shaking. I shook my head.
"I'm sorry.." I said mumbling and ran into my tent. I wanted to be alone in this moment. I cant handle losing my brother. I cant.

Daryl and the others went back to find Merle the next day. I paced back and fourth across the land. I was anxious. I haven't talked to anyone since it happened, I haven't ate, I haven't slept. I haven't stopped thinking about how my brother could be a walker right now. And they just let that happen.
"Honey, come have something to eat, please." Lori said from a distance.
I shook my head and grabbed my journal and pen from my tent and went up onto the RV. Journaling is my escape from reality. It's the one thing i have that can make the world seem close to normal. And maybe one day i'll get to share my documentations to the world if everything goes back to normal."They're back!" Dale yelled looking through his binoculars.
I saw Daryl behind the other car on his motorcycle. And from the look on his face, i knew.
I dropped to my knees.
"no.."————————————————————
