Agni's story ~kingo

serving arishem

"it's never hurt before ajak, i don't know what's happening to me" agni told ajak, as she sat in a bucket of ice with her close on, in an attempt to stop the burning while ajak worked on healing her
"it takes a long time to heal one's whole body, especially at the rate you burned yourself agni" ajak said, ignoring the girls concern
"i want to stop fighting" agni said, expressing her concern further
"you can't" ajak spoke, her hand rubbing on the girls back as she began to soothe the burns
"ajak, my powers are hurting people" agni said. she refused to watch someone hurt like anna did that day

"well you'll have to practice with it more, train it again to not hurt you or others like it once did before" ajak told her, leaving the girl even more terrified then once before
"ajak we can't let her fight" kingo came bursting into the room, concern on his features

"kingo this is none of your concern"
"none of my concern? i'm the one who had to calm her down watching her powers kill her! i'm the one who had to hold her while she cried! i'm the only one who can touch her in that state without being burnt, and it's none of my concern? i will not watch her hurt herself again" kingo spoke

every word that came out of his mouth was one of hurt, he was concerned for agni, he had just told her he loves her. he won't let that go now
"we must serve arishem-"
"we can do it, without her" kingo said, leaving it at that as he walks out of the room in anger

"he really loves you agni" ajak said, finished the healing of her back. "i'm sorry ajak, i'll fight if you need me too" agni spoke, disappointed in herself for even suggesting not serving arishem
"it's alright agni, we'll work up to fighting again, for now you have to reharness your flames
"are you sure?" agni asked cautiously "yes, it's not worth you hurting over"
agni didn't believe a second of it, she knew ajak was only saying it to keep kingo angry, because making agni fight would not only anger kingo, but also the rest of the eternals.

agni didn't feel the burning anymore, since ajak had her sit in the bath, and was healing her.
she only felt it when she closed her eyes for to long
everytime she leaned her head back and closed her eyes, she was brought into a horrible nightmare, but she was awake the whole time

she could see anna being crushed by the fiery building, yet she couldn't open her eyes, she couldn't open her eyes until she heard kingos voice telling her he loved her
it was like being touched by the hands of a healer like ajak, but kingo did it with just his voice, and as long as kingo was with her she never felt pain

but kingo couldn't spend every waking moment with her, it was practically impossible, but he would damn well try
agni knew when kingo stormed out earlier he went to blow off steam, and she knew exactly where he would go.

"are we done ajak?" agni asked, feeling no burn, or slight pain in her body any longer
"i think we are" ajak smiled, pulling the girl out of the bath. "go find him" ajak told her, knowing exactly why she was in such a hurry

without another word agni closed her eyes and teleported to the town, taking a deep breath before progressing any further
she stepped forward, preparing to have insults thrown at her left and right, but everyone smiled and waved as if nothing happened that dreadful day.

agni made her way to the dress shop, and there kingo was, helping anna and her family put the shop back together, and collect the torched dresses
agnis heart beat heavy in her chest
why would she even think about coming back here? she ruined this families hard work with just a swipe of her finger

she felt like she was walking on egg shells, tip toeing to kingo and anna's family
"um, anna?" agni said quietly, she expected something bad, like a smack, or atleast a lot of screaming
but she was caught off guard when anna tackled her into a hug "your okay!!" anna yelled, hugging the girl tighter than agnis ever been hugged before

"you arnt afraid of me?" agni asked, stiff in anna's arms
"no! why would i be?" anna said, looking towards agni with a confused face
"kingo told us what happened, and we forgive you, but are you okay?" agni smiled a big smile
she felt so happy to not be, hated.

"i'm okay, do you all need help?" agni suddenly sparked an idea, eyes glancing to kingo and he knew exactly what she meant, giving her a quick nod, without waiting for an answer from anna she teleported away with a simple 'be right back'

and she did just what she said. soon enough she was back with the rest of the eternals.
it took a little convincing, (and by convincing i mean gaslighting)
but the eternals finally agreed
after a small "but we destroyed their home it's only fair" they all agreed, and so here they were
cleaning up the remains of a small amazonian town that they destroyed in a fight

and helping was bringing agni back to life, it was almost therepudic
and soon enough, she'd be back to serving arishem like she was born to do
for her friends, for her family
