"you can't be serious makkari" agnis said, the rain pouring down their faces as they spoke to eachother,

'i'm completely serious ag'
Agnis breathing was uneasy, she felt the world caving in
this is what she feared
that kingo would love her, but they would be destined to fall
for thousands of years she watched people fall in love, and then one way or another they'd both end in heartbreak
the only people she hadn't watched break was gilgamesh and thena, and druig and brelione, but she knew one of them would end in ruin eventually
it always ended that way
it was the only way
and she didn't want it
she wanted what she had with kingo now, she didn't want what they had to end

what they had was truly beautiful, she can only imagine how beautiful it would be if they truly were together
but the most beautiful things always end the ugliest
and she couldn't deal with that
she loved him too much, she would risk it all for him

"makkari, are you telling me the truth?" agni asked, she was hoping this was all a joke, that this wasn't real and makkari would break into laughter telling her how much she couldn't beleive she fell for it
but when makkaris head nodded upwards, agni felt her world cave in
she hated more than anything the idea of losing the people she loved most, the people she had to spend eternity with.
right in this moment she wished to be human, knowing that if she was a human and fell in love with a friend, that when they wouldn't last forever, forever didn't really last forever
humans die
eternals don't

a tap too makkaris shoulder brought agni out of her gaze as she saw brelione infront of her
'you didn't tell her did you?' brelione asked, already knowing the answer
makkari made another nod, disappointed in herself for letting this secret out

and so agni, covered in rain, not knowing the difference between rain and tears at this point, she looked brelione in the eyes, asking for a second time
"is it true?" and another disappointing nod.

'agni you can't-" but agni wasn't listening, she ran towards the ship, not wanting to be talked out of her choice in confrontation, because holding it in was going to kill her from the inside out
she couldn't just hold this information inside of her, she needed to know if it was true, if he really did love her the way they all said he did.
she needed to know if he really wanted to try and not end in ruin like everyone else
it was about time she faced her fears

agni snapped her fingers, walking into the ship, and to kingos room.
"ag! how was your walk in the rain?" he asked with a smile, but when he saw brelione and makkari in the doorway with terrified faces he grew worried

"do you love me?" agni asked suddenly, and kingo looked toward makkari
he felt betrayed, he trusted these people, he trusted them to not tell agni, and now he's at risk of losing the most important person to him

one after another the eternals gathered in the doorway of kingos room, to watch the scene unfold before them
"what.. who said that.." kingo laughed, scratching the back of his neck
"do you love me kingo." she asked, more tears down her face as she spoke to him,

kingo felt his world caving in, he didn't know what to do, he didn't know what to say or how she would react
what if she didn't love him back, he was terrified of having to spend the eternity with the tension
"i uh.." he looked back at brelione
she always had the answers, she would know what to do

'tell her'

was all she signed, and kingo knew he had too
it was her heart or his, lie to her for his feelings, or tell her to save her own
"i do"

she was so overwhelmed with emotions she felt her hands burning
she didn't know what to do as she was enveloped in the flame, even the tears in her face couldn't neutralize the flames that took over her body, she was frozen in place and she couldn't say anything. "i.."

"all of you, go" ajak said to the crowd, pushing them into the kitchen awaiting the news of what was to come, so they wouldn't get hurt and so that kingo could calm down the girl

"are you sure?" agni said, and now that they were alone kingo grew back his confidence
"i've never been more sure of anything in my life" kingo said

and though she was engulfed in her dangerous flames, he trusted her
he trusted her with everything in him, with everything he had
she he reached out his hand, but she flinched away
"you'll get hurt" she said, her eyes burning with tears
kingo shook his head and walked forward, he grabbed her hand
and it didn't hurt
it wasn't hot, her touch was warm, as it always is,
he pulled her into his chest, and soon they both were engulfed in the flames

"i love you agni" he said, brushing his fingers through her hair
"more than anything ya know? i want to spend an eternity with you"
every word he spoke brought the flames smaller and smaller until they were but a small flash of light

"agni, by any chance do you love me too?" kingo asked, poking her side for good fun

"i do kingo... i think i do"

this was so choppy oh my god
