Agni's story ~kingo

HI! so the time jumps around a lot here, i PROMISE we will have a set time soon, but currently we are in the 1900s, it's been many many years since the splitting of the eternals

walking
moving
traveling
walking
moving

and repeat
and repeat
and repeat

kingo was tired of it, he had been everywhere in the world and no where agni was
it's been many, many years
and every five years it's more walking, more moving, more traveling, more repeating
he and sprite spend the last years together
arguing
it's the same thing every day
he's been everywhere in the world

and yet kingo hasn't ran into agni once
and kingo couldn't keep lying to people about why sprite didn't grow,
he needed to find a place he could be at home, find a home without agni, a place he could feel comfortable even without agni by his side
he left sprite one night, while they were peacefully sleeping

and he felt his heart break a little more even after their argument the morning before

"we can't stay kingo! we have to keep moving" sprite said, and frankly, kingo didn't agree
"let's stay one more night" kingo said
he knew leaving sprite would break him
but kingo had too
"some people need to be separated to grow"
sprite looked at him
"agni isn't here, she isn't in macedonia" kingo stared at sprite dumbfoundedly

"don't mention her" he said, turning around
"get over her! she's gone! she betrayed arishem! she's probably dead by now!!" sprite didn't know what she was saying
they closed their mouth after they said those words
"don't talk about agni like that" kingo didn't even turn back around
he stayed, back facing sprite
"i didn't mean it-"

"she's just, dead right? so it's fine, agnis dead and i'll never see her again, never love her again? i finally, finally saw her, i saw her sprite, i saw the real woman i loved, i saw agni for the first time as agni, and not just another eternal, and then she left, she left me sprite, and now your telling me arishem killed her because she walked out? he killed her for what? out of spite? why did her kill her? HUH? WHY SPRITE? WHY IS AGNI DEAD?" kingo turned around
his face was streaming with tears
"because he can" sprite said quietly
"he killed her, if she's even dead, because he has the power too" she said, louder now
sprite was crying too now, he looked into kingos eyes
"ive always envied you" sprite said, "you and agni, for what you have"
kingo wiped his tears
"what do you mean?" kingo asked, his mind flooded with agni
is she dead?
is agni dead?
she can't be dead
arishem wouldn't
kill her...

"you and agni, running around the ship like children, but you wernt children, you looked just like everyone else" sprite started making illusions
it was agni and kingo
they were dancing
wait
it was agnis fire, he made illusions of agnis fire
"it's not red" kingo said, reaching out to touch it
"what?" sprite said, looking at his illusions
"it's not red, agnis illusions of her and i, they are always purple" the illusions flashed to purple

"that's what i mean, you know everything about her"
"i spent a hundred or more years with her" kingo explained, he sat down, watching the now almost perfect depiction of agnis fire
"that's now the point kingo, the point is, she loves you, and you love her, and i can't have love because i look like me!" sprite was crying again
kingo hugged her, pulling her close
"we love you just the way you are sprite, and i am so sorry"

sprite and kingo decided to go with each other because sprite hated the idea of being alone
thena had gilgamesh, ikaris went with brelione, druig was gone, sersi went with ajak, soon to split up as well

in their years of traveling, sprite and kingo had visited ajak, and ikaris and brel, but never agni

so now, sprite was sound asleep in her bed, they were set to leave in the morning
but kingo couldn't do it, he kissed her head
"i'm sorry, i have to find home" he stood up and he was gone,

when sprite woke up, kingo and all his stuff was gone
she was alone, she didn't know what to do
he hated being alone more than anything, he felt empty, and scared, and angry
angry at arishem for making him this way
angry at kingo for leaving
angry at agni for leaving too
angry at the eternals for leaving him just alone
angry
just angry

sprite packed their bags and left, he didn't know where he would go he was terrified
he was hoping, praying, that he would find an eternal
and he did
after months of traveling, sprite found sersi
and he didn't feel so alone anymore

kingo however searched long and hard for agni, but knew

you couldn't find someone who didn't want to be found

so when kingo came across india, he instantly felt warm inside
and he understood that maybe he just had to stay
he'd figure out a way to stay forever
he would make this place his home

"movie? what's that?" he asked a resident of the village he stayed in
"it's a new thing, moving pictures, like, an illusion almost" kingo sat by this tiny screen, watching this stupid show that wasn't even entertaining, but for some reason, all of the stories sprite and agni told on their illusions showed, and kingo remembered his love and he felt warm inside
his lovely agni, dead or alive, was somewhere in the world awaiting his return to her
yet didn't want to be found
so he'd look for her, while sitting comfortably in a place he made home

"how do i get in one of those?"
the man looked at kingo, with bright eyes
"let's start a movie together"

when the movie came out, titled
"a lovers return"
kingo so desperately hoped for agni to see it

but kingo had no idea as he was making movies and growing fame
that agni needed him

but, agni would always need him
no matter what
