    Elliot

When we walked outside, I was honestly surprised to see Nicole standing besides mum's car, staring at the hibiscus flower plant, as if she's never seen them before or she was studying them either way, it seemed to have her occupied.

And in her hands I saw... Wait, are those my textbooks? After a closer inspection it dawned to me that she actually brought my textbooks for me. Or it was mom that had her do it either way, I was beyond grateful.

"Nicole?" Edmund asked with a huge goofy smile on his face, he really was finding it difficult to hide his excitement. I mean after all what's to be excited about seeing her, we just saw her at home like 3 hours ago?

Okay, maybe I was excited to see her only because she brought my textbooks. Only because of that.

"Hey... Hi," she smiled upon seeing Edmund... Because, I definitely know it's not because of me. Not that I care though, "What brings you to our school, Nikki?" Edmund asked with a slight grin. I saw her narrow her eyes at him, "am actually here for Elliot." She answered, I saw Edmund's face drop. "Oh." He awkwardly coughed.

Ouch.

She chuckled, nudging him playfully. "Gotcha. You actually thought I'd come all the way to your school just to see him. I thought you knew me better than that, Eddie." She laughed, Edmund's face brightened up as he joined her to laugh.

I bit my lips, okay ouch.

" In case you've forgotten. Am standing right here." I decided to finally make my presence known, Nicole threw me a board look. "Oh hey, didn't see you there." She said flatly.  Edmund chuckled, I sulked, folding my arms. "Those are my books?" I asked, mentally face plaming myself, ofcourse they're mine.

"Yeah, you forgot them at home, so I brought them for you."  She answered, handing them to me her eyes not meeting mine.

"I.. uh, thank you." I didn't know what to say again, I took the books from her and flashed her a smile that disappeared as fast as it appeared.

"Next time, forget your books at home I won't even bother to bring them for you. If not for Nicole that pleaded with me." Mum said opening the car door as she sent me a warningglare. I smiled awkwardly, "sorry, mum." She waved her hands in dismissal.

"In case you don't see us when you two get home. The spare key is under the rug." She said, we both nodded. "Nicole," mum gestured for her to come inside the car. "Thanks again, mum." I smiled at her, standing next to the car window. She shook her head, "it's not me your supposed to be thanking it's Nicole."

I bit my bottom lip, glancing at Nicole who was busy chatting with Edmund. "Yeah, thanks." I mumbled, she looked at me and nodded. "You're welcome."
