A World Beyond the Sea

Chapter 4: The Crash

We hit the water with such force that it felt like an elephant just fell onto me.

We were all holding hands when something suddenly broke us apart.

It pulled us out of the plane and pulled us down into the dark abyss of water.

I awoke in a sea of water. I was terrified, but yet I had never felt so peaceful.

I blew air out of my nose and watched the air rings float up until they vanished.

At first I thought that I was dreaming, that this was nothing more then just a thought, a memory.

A shadow stood in the distance. I could not make out what it was.

It moved closer. I clenched my jaw, thinking that I would wake up from this nightmare.

I pinched myself. I kicked and screamed, but nothing happened.

The shadow was now only 10 feet away.

"Hello, who's there? I know someones there."

Someone or something replied.

"Your savior."

She moved into the light. She looked like an human. She had eyes like glass. They were the size of my fist. And they were jet black. Her skin was like porcelain. And her hair was golden blonde. She was short, but looked tough. She had some form of a bow and arrow across her back.

"Where are my friends? What have you done with Hazel?"

"You mean the girl."

"Yes, what have you done with her?"

"She lives."

I took a sigh of relief. Hazel lived through the crash. I lived through the crash, I think.

"What is your name?" I asked.

"Aurelia. Aurelia daughter of Eclipse, and air to the throne."

"What throne? Where am I?"

"You are in the Gunakadeit realm of the Sea. Other wise known as a world beyond the sea."

"So I'm underwater and breathing?"

"Yes. Old Epraihm be stilled our powers in you and your friends."

"Oh" I tried to make sense of what made no sense what so ever. I mean a world under the sea? I'm dead. I have to be dead.

"Let me try to explain this to you. We are an underwater race called Melusines. I was hunting when I watched your air craft go down. I swam up and saw how worried you four were. I swam in under the protection of darkness and grabbed you. You didn't know it because you were in shock. Your friends are all alive and well. They are currently exploring with Theon, son of Apollos the God of all sea creatures."

My head was spinning and I thought I was going to black out. So I was breathing and talking under water with some kind of Melusines or whatever they are called.

"Yeah sure lets just say that makes sense."

"You humans are so stubborn." Aurelia said, "let me give you a tour."

Maverick hesitantly replied, "sure I guess."

As they walked or swam or whatever the heck they were doing, they saw some unbelievable creatures.

Maverick's jaw practically dropped down to the ocean floor.

He saw a megalodon, a humanly known extinct shark. He saw some sort of fish with a neck like a giraffe. He tried to take in the beauty of all of this.

Maverick thought how humans hadn't found this yet.

He asked Aurelia this.

"We are too deep for humans to ever go. I was atop the ocean looking for fish, food is getting scarce here."

Aurelia looked like she was thinking of something.

The she jumped on Maverick, knife in hand.
