Chapter six, yay! This is where the story really picks up to the plot I had originally planned so they will start getting longer and more interesting (I hope). Thank you so much for reading through the probably boring first few chapters! P.S. There will be more stronger language in the future chapters because, come on, they're pirates.

Emma was having a horrible nightmare. She had been spending time with a man that she had thought could mean something to her, and the next thing she knew he had knocked her out.And then, as Emma groaned like an old woman as she began to wake up, she knew without opening her eyes that she wasn't in her bed or her room for that matter. The surface underneath her was incredibly hard and rough, like untreated planks of wood. It was stuffy and most definitely not familiar.
Emma blinked rapidly at the light shining in through a small round window, taking in her surroundings. The room she was in was not that much larger than a broom closet, with a bucket of sun warmed water in the corner (what was she, a dog?). The blonde was indeed laying on planks of wood. Ones that had been nailed together and we're hanging off the wall by two chains, so that the "bed" could be pushed up against the wall if needed.
Great. Charles had kidnapped her. Freaking perfect.
It was then that Emma noticed that the room was moving, rocking from side to side. Heaving herself up and tripping unsteadily towards the window, she looked out to find exactly what she'd dreaded she would find. Endless water. She was on a ship that was already far out to sea.
Emma whipped around and saw a door in the other side of the hideously small room. A strangled noise of victory and relief escaped her because at least she knew there's way out.
As she began to stumble over to the door (Emma didn't quite have her sea legs yet) something yanked at her ankle, stopping the blonde in her tracks by causing her fall flat on her face.
Groaning, Emma twisted to look over her shoulder to find an iron chain clamped around her ankle and bolted to the floor by the "bed".
"No no no!" Emma exclaimed, dragging herself to the bolt in frivolous attempts to pry it loose from the floor boards. When that didn't work, Emma switched to trying to slip the metal cuff off her ankle (meanwhile realizing that she was still wearing nothing more than her nightgown and light robe) but the chains refused to budge. Emma continued to yank aimlessly at the iron for a time, just to feel like she was doing something.
Finally giving up, after what felt like almost an hour, Emma slumped back against the wall, her eyes slightly wet with frustration. For the longest time, she simply stared at the light slowly moving across the floor. "Son of a bitch!" She practically shrieked out of the blue to no one in particular.
Emma wasn't one to use foul language (mostly because her mother would scold her severely of she ever let a curse word slip) but in this situation, Emma didn't really care.
"My, my. Such naughty words from such a dainty princess." came a voice that made Emma jerk with shock and surprise in the direction it came from.
Emma hadn't even heard the person enter the room, but there he stood, leaning against the door jam watching her. He looked like an entirely different person, but there was enough familiarity that Emma could recognize him. After all, his face had been the last thing she'd seen before the dark had taken her hostage last night. At least, she hopes it was last night and not days or even weeks ago.
"You." Emma spit out with a hiss, her voice injected with a venom that burned her mouth.
"Me." Charles stated with the same cock-sure grin that she'd spent hours swooning over late at night. Then it had seemed playful and flirty. Now it appeared cold and cruel, darkness was etched into his face.
