The picture above is what I imagined Wendy to look like! This chapter gives Wendy's backstory and is kind of a filler because it's leading up to chapter nine which has a lot more action in it 😄 enjoy my fellow Oncers!
--------------------------------------------"So you're the princess."
Emma's head snapped up to see the girl leaning up against the door jam with her arms crossed. Her stance was unguarded and easy enough but there was a tenseness in her shoulders that made Emma stand up.
"Yeah I guess that would be me." Emma said hesitantly. "Who are you?"
"Oh, right, sorry." said straightening up. "Gwendolyn Darling at your service!" She gave a mock curtsy. "But everyone calls me Wendy."
Gwendolyn Darling. It sounded familiar. Then she remembered Mr. Smee telling her that this girl had been a princess...
"Oh!" Emma said out loud in sudden realization. "Gwendolyn Darling, you're the princess that went missing 7 years ago two kingdoms over from mine!"
Wendy's mouth pinched slightly at that, as if she'd swallowed something sour.
"Missing? Is that what they're calling it?" She sounded slightly bitter and Emma supposed that this ex-princess was not so much asking a real question but more grumbling to herself. "Don't want to admit that the little princess ran away with a pirate to get away from the beloved King and Queen."
Emma was silent. She felt a little uncomfortable. "Are you and Hook..." Wendy raised her eyebrows as Emma struggled to find the right words. "Together?" She finally finished.
Wendy's eyebrows shot up so high they almost disappeared into her bangs before she burst into hysterical laughter. Honestly, is scared Emma a little, it was so loud and a tad explosive.
"Killian.... and.... me... toge-" she broke of into a new surge of laugher, bending over and clutching her stomach.
"A simple 'no' would have sufficed." Emma said feeling slightly embarrassed by the pirate's reaction.
Wendy straightened, still chuckling, and wiped at her eyes were tears had formed.
"Sorry, it's just... Killian's my brother. It was just weird to think about." she made a face and shuddered. "Ew."
Emma's face felt hot, and she wasn't quite sure want to think of this girl. She seemed friendly enough but from what Emma had seen of her, this Wendy was... peculiar. Yes. Very peculiar.
"Oh, blast."
Emma snapped back to reality.
"My eyeliner's running." Wendy was dabbing at her eyes. "I hate it when it gets all over my face."
The raven haired girl turned and began to walk away, leaving Emma to continue to stand awkwardly in her cell, staring at the open door. Was she supposed to stay here?
Suddenly Wendy popped her head back into the room. "You can come with me." She said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
"Won't Hook mind?" Emma wouldn't normally care about a stupid pirate, but she knew what he was like when he was angry. She had no desire to have that monstrousness aimed at herself once again.
"Screw Hook." She said. "Everyone knows I'm really the one in charge on this ship. Stick with me and you'll be fine."
Emma hesitated for a split second.
"Unless you'd rather stay here?" Wendy asked sarcastically when the princess didn't move right away.
"Absolutely not." Emma said firmly before following Wendy into the hallway. Emma made sure to take everything in; the ship and its layout of everything, she wasn't stupid and this could be her only chance to figure her way around the ship. Her only chance to find a way to escape.
