Hello again! This is my favorite chapter I've written so far, and this is where we start seeing some CaptainSwan moments (I know finally right!) so enjoy! ❤️❤️
--------------------------------------------(Killian's POV)
Killian would never admit this to anyone, not even Wendy, but he was terrified to fight Blackbeard. And that was not good to feel when faced with fighting this infamous pirate. Fear leads to clouded judgment, clouded judgment led to poor decision making, and poor decision making led to death. It was simple math. And Captain Hook would not die at the hands of that filthy rat. It wouldn't be good form. So if he didn't want to die, then he couldn't be afraid.
As he came to this conclusion, it was as though his mind had been wiped clean of anything other than the task at hand: defeating Blackbeard. He had a sister, a crew, a ship, bloody hell, even a princess to defend.
Killian whirled around to see his men still hard at work, carrying out his orders. "Roberts, report!" He barked.
"He's coming in fast Captain! Armed and almost within range."
"Is the ship ready?"
"Almost Captain."
"Well almost isn't GOOD ENOUGH!" He roared loud enough for everyone to hear him.
"Aye, aye Captain." Roberts said and was immediately back to work, yelling at people to tie knots faster, pull harder on the ropes, and push and load the cannons quicker.
Killian turned back to Wendy, standing quietly at his side, full of aggravation.
"Wendy I want you to go back below deck and protect the princess." He told her.
"Not a bloody chance. I left Emma with a knife and locked the door against any outsiders. She'll be fine." Wendy continued to stare at Blackbeard's approaching ship, the Queen Ann's Revenge.
"Or locked her in with any outsiders. Wendy, I want you to stay down below-"
"Well I'm not going to." she interrupted, finally turning to face her brother. "I'm staying up here with you." Her eyes were full of a fierce determination.
Killian hesitated. He wanted Wendy to have nothing to with Blackbeard: her good for nothing father, who kidnapped their mother, took advantage of her against her will, and left the woman to care for the her unborn child that Killian's father had wanted nothing to do with.
Letting out a frustrated groan he finally agreed. Now was not the time to argue over something like this. "Bloody hell. Fine, but you will be standing guard by the door that leads to Emma and make sure that no one gets past you. I will not have you anywhere near that man who dares to call himself your father."
Killian though her heard the girl mutter something along the lines of 'overprotective mother dragon', but "Alright, fine." was all that she said loud enough for him to hear properly.
"Captain! We're ready to fire!" Roberts yelled from further down the port side.
Wendy hurried off to guard the door, and Killian raced back to the helm.
"Then take aim and fire!" The Captain hollered back.
There was a pause as Killian's men lined up the shots, and then the cannons were lit. With crashes that shattered every eardrum aboard, three iron cannon balls were shot into the air and rocketed towards the ship that had become maddeningly close.
There was a moment where every breathe was held in the split second before the weapons hit their mark- and then three holes were gouged into the Queen Ann's Revenge. Wood was torn and ripped as water poured in. It was almost magic, how fast the ship began to sink.
