Breaking the limit

The next day struck and the same routine began again. It was the 5th time seeing these yellow-clothed young humans in the past month. And there was the false story again.

Girl: But she has done nothing wrong then. Why can't you just let her go?

Snape: She can be a danger for us all, who knows what she came to do. She can alarm her kingdom and then they can attack us again.

Boy: Then why did thy attack in the first place?

Snape: It is a dangerous kind. Narcissistic.

Acacia: Says the one who tells the same false story every day, over and over again. Right in front of their own princess. We didn't start it, you did. And then, you killed their rulers and kidnapped their princess.

Snape: Children, don't listen to her, she is nothing more than a lier.

Acacia: A story always has 2 sides, they only have heard one for years. Why don't you ask a witness to tell them the other side?

I let a smirk appear on my face as I looked the man dead in the eyes. I started right into his soul as I let electricity fill my eyes.

Acacia: You are eventually a teacher who needs to teach, not to tell lies.

I didn't raise my voice at him or something, my tone was soft but powerful.

Acacia: Come on then, electrocute me, like you do every day to make me suffer for what my kingdom did. I didn't even do anything to you, I was just a girl looking for her parents to come home. I lost someone I loved, but luckily you do too. A red-haired girl, isn't it? Oh I swear I knew her once, she helped me growing up, but then she got killed by one of yours, how sad. I thought you wouldn't dare to attack each other, guess that is another thing that is a complete lie.

I saw disgust and madness filling inside of him but he stood as still as a pole. The children were shocked by what I said, they would expect that from a teacher. I let an evil smirk appear as I let more electricity fill my eyes to break the chains immediately and without any force. I slowly stood up and walked to the side of my cage where the professor stood.

Acacia: You didn't expect me to know that, did you? My mother told me bedtime stories till 12 years old, yours was the one I always kept in mind, for when I would need it.

Snape: You are a bloody psychopath.

Acacia: Unnatural ornis princess ... with your life story. Now, children, don't always believe what your teacher tells you, you need to know both sides to be well-learned.

Boy: Why don't you tell us now then?

Acacia: It would be a pleasure. If the teacher approves it of course.

He was still standing really still as I looked him back in the eyes.

Acacia: Or is that unpleased?

He didn't say anything and just walked away. I guess that was a yes. I asked the children to sit down and I started explaining my side of the story. They found it lovely to hear and I found it lovely to finally tell someone my side of it all. They were shocked about how 2 teachers could kill 2 ornis rulers and promised me not to tell any teacher, only to keep it between students.

Their bell rang and they happily walked back to the inside of the castle. I got left alone for the rest of the day, without seeing anyone around. But in the evening, that nice man came to me again with some food for me.

Newt: Snape told me what you did in the morning. Wasn't that a bit too far?

Acacia: Come on, really? I did nothing to him, only told him a little story, then he just walked away. Wait. How does he know you come by me?

Newt: It was just informed to all the teachers.

Acacia: Great. So what happens now with me? Am I going to get killed or just send away?

Newt: Wow, you already think the worst. No, nothing is going to happen to you. Only Snape isn't going to be around here anymore.

Acacia: No, I was finally getting in a grove. Who took his place then?

Newt: Someone named Gilderoy Lockhart will teach students outside while Snape teaches potions inside.

Acacia: What kind of a person is he?

Newt: You are going to use things I will say against him, don't you?

Acacia: Absolutely, but only when it is needed to.

Newt: I am not sharing any information about him, sorry. You can't do anything to him, you can be sent away if you do too many things to teachers or students.

Acacia: Then don't send irritating ones to me. We are a dangerous kind after all.

Newt: You don't seem dangerous to me.

Acacia: Because you earned my trust, not many humans can gain that, surely not your kind.

Newt: Can we please stop about "kinds" and all those things. Let us become equal.

He reached his hand through the steel bars of my cage. Does he really want me to shake his hand?

Acacia: Under one condition: you try to get me out of this cage and swear not to attack me.

Newt: I am already working on that first thing and why would I attack a crown princess?

Acacia: I don't know, for Meodor maybe? When you kill the last member of the royal family that is alive, you get the kingdom. Many have tried that in the past.

Newt: I am not that kind of a person, I just want to help you.

Eventually, I shook his hand. A handshake by ornisses is an unbreakable bond of trust. But when you break it, the other can go as far as he wants to give the worst to the person.

I have never seen a grown wizard that isn't telling lies or trying to get the worst out of me. If he gets me out of this stupid cage, I will be grateful to him. The time has struck where the sun disappears under the horizon and the man went inside again. As always, I settled myself down against my tree and fell asleep.
