My alarm wakes me up. I groan. I hoped I didn't wake up. I'm so tired of this already. I look in the mirror. I look so terrible. Nothing new, I always look terrible. Today's Monday, so that means I have work. I hate Mondays. I go in one of my drawers to find my work outfit. I have to wash it. Whatever, it's only for this week, after this I'll ask Lucy to wash clothes.

I walk out my room to see Lucy on her phone. "Texting Jeremy?" I ask. "No, we broke up last night. When he came it was so little! You wouldn't believe it, haha!" I laugh with her to seem amused. "Well I have to go to work, cya." As soon as I turn around, Lucy whines. "So soon already? Did you even brush your teeth? Why are you leaving so early?" I sigh. I wouldn't have to if she just paid her side of rent. "I don't have time right now, Lucy. As much as I would like to hang out with you. I'm trying to be mature right now. You know I don't usually act like this." I groan.

She grabs me by my hand. "Don't leave! Let's hang out! I'll introduce you to this guy! Please! Everything's so boring without you..." I cut her off. "Well I wouldn't have to be doing this if you just paid your side of rent!" I yell. I slam the door behind me and leave. Was I too harsh? Maybe I shouldn't have. I miss us. We used to be so close. But if we need a place to stay, I need to do this.

"You did the right thing, kid." I look up to see Don, the landlord. Partially my friend. "Oh! Hey Don. And I don't know, I think I was a bit harsh on Lucy." He pats my head. "No, you weren't. You stated what you thought and that's okay. I would've done the same. And to be honest, you're probably my favorite tenant here." He grins. I force a smile. It's the least I could do. "Well, thanks... Don." I head off to work.

I run through the door noticing it's 12:19. Damnit, I'm late! TK's gonna kill me!! "You're late! Again!" They look down and shake their head. "Sorry! I had some... issues." I run to them. "It's alright, but please try to be early at least." I hug them. "I'll try!" I stutter in my sentence. TK makes me the happiest. They're so amazing! "Alright let's get to work!" We high five.

**TIME SKIP**

5:15... just a few more minutes and I'm done for today... "Y/N! Help me with this!" TK yells. "Alright!" I go over to them. "Get some tissue! Someone dropped their smoothie." I rush over to get tissue. "I'll clean it up TK!" I go over to the spilled smoothie. "No, it's okay Y/N!-"

We collide into each other.

"Ouch...- agh!" I notice that I'm right on top of TK. My face feels warm. I see them make eye contact with me. We both blush. "Y/N! Look what happened..." they pull away. I get up. "Sorry!!! That wasn't supposed to happen... why'd you have to come over here?" I clean up the smoothie really quickly. "I was supposed to clean that up!" They stuttered. "Calm down TK!" I chuckle.

Time to leave. 5:30. "TK, I'm heading out!" They look at me. "Alright, um... I'll, text you..?" They nervously say. I felt myself blush. "Oh, yeah..!" I smile at them before I wave goodbye. They make me so happy oh my gosh. They're my best friend!

I go inside my apartment. Surprisingly, Lucy doesn't have a "study partner" tonight. I go inside my room. I flop down on my bed. The day is finally over. Tomorrow is another one. I hear a knock on my door. "Come in." The door opens.

"Hey, I'm sorry for earlier."

I should be saying that, so why is she?

I get up, and hug her. Unknowingly, I start crying. I didn't mean to yell at her, or hurt her. I didn't mean to hurt anyone. I just, wanted her to know how I had felt these past couples of months. I manage to muffle out the words, "I'm sorry." Before sobbing again. "Hey, it's okay. I'm the one being irresponsible! You have every right to be mad at me Y/N... I've been such a bad friend, you deserve so much better." She kisses my forehead. "I'm so, sorry Y/N." "It's... okay, Lucy. I shouldn't have yelled at you like that. I'm sorry too." We look at each other.

"Best friends forever..?" She says, forcing a smile.

"Best friends forever."

Once she leaves my room, I go on my bed, turn off the light, and lay down. Shit, it's hot in here.  I open my window, that's better. Alright, now I can lay down. I lay down on my bed. Take a deep breath in and out. And go to bed. Tomorrow is another day.
