━━━━━━━☆☆━━━━━━━The sky was dark and gloomy when the girl woke up in the morning. Stretching her arms above her head, she let out a grunt before slowly sitting up. Using the palm of her hands to rub the sleep from her eyes, the girl let out a sigh before grabbing a hair tie from her bedside table and pulling her hair up. Pushing herself out of the warmth of her mountain of blankets, the girl trekked into the kitchen to put on a pot of coffee for her and her brother. Once in the kitchen, Georgia looked into the living room where she saw Jughead fast asleep on the couch. His hand popping up his head while his legs rested on the coffee table, his laptop and several papers surrounding him. The girl smiled to herself before walking up to her brother and shaking his shoulder softly. "Juggie, wake up." the girl whispered. Jughead's eyes flew open before they rested on his twin sister. "W-We have school today." she told him, before walking away from him and towards her room once again, the comforting smell of brewing coffee following behind her.
Georgia closed her bedroom door, before walking to the window in her small room and cracking it open. It was still early September, but the air was growing cold quickly which made her smile. Hers and Jughead's birthday was less than a month away now, and she couldn't wait to see the leaves change colors during autumn. Letting the damp air filter into her room, the girl pulled a pair of levi jeans and changed out of her fuzzy pajama pants. Georgia was never one to dress to impress others, so out of the several different options she had for cropped shirts the girl instinctively grabbed a large gray crewneck that fit a couple sizes too big.
The rest of the morning went by quietly. Georgia and Jughead sat at the small dining room table and had their coffee together before grabbing their bags and heading out the front door. They opted for walking to school today, the roads were fairly wet and Jughead didn't want to drive on the wet roads with his sister on the back of his bike for her own safety. The walk wasn't long anyways, and the siblings took the time to prepare for what the day would bring them this time around. Despite the fact that yesterday went a lot better than they were expecting it too, it was still a lot different than going to Riverdale high. Getting to the school, the twins made their way through security and metal detectors before gaining access to the hallways that were full of graffiti. Although smoking inside the school, most didn't care and the hallways were full of a lingering smog of cigarette smoke.
Georgia wrinkled her nose in disgust before following behind her brother to their lockers. Georgia couldn't shake the feeling of eyes on her with every step she took, and she knew they were the lingering stares of the Ghoulies. While the Jones children were not official Serpents, they were close enough. Being the children of the legendary Serpent king came with a price that neither of the siblings were willing to pay - their lives. It was a known fact between the two gangs that littered the Southside. Take out one of the Jones kids, you become a legend, lay down your life for them and you become a hero.
A large arm draped around Georgia's shoulders, the small girl jumped before looking up to see Fangs beside her before another tall figure stepped on the other side of her. Toni appeared in front of her beside her brother, and quickly struck up a conversation with him. "Morning Queenie," Fangs greeted with a large warm smile, making Georgia smile in return. "How'd sleeping beauty enjoy the rest of her night?" Sweet Pea teased making the girl huff and roll her eyes. "F-Fine thanks." she said quietly, looking down to her feet but stopped when Fangs leaned down and whispered into her head. "Keep your head up, the Ghoulies will think you're weak." he told her.
Georgia lifted her head once again, training her eyes onto her brother's back. "Good," Sweet Pea encouraged. "Make them afraid of you, don't pity a single one of them." he added in, straightening his shoulders as the two led the girl through the hallways. Georgia started to notice that when she looked in the direction of wandering eyes, they would quickly look away. "Don't forget, you're the Serpent princess. You've got a target on your back; show them you aren't afraid of them." Fangs told her when they got to the door to her English class. "What if I am?" she asked quietly, making Sweet Pea chuckle. "Fake it." He whispered in her ear, before slipping into the classroom behind her as Fangs walked in the opposite direction.
Georgia suppressed the shiver that ran down her spine, before turning and following Sweet Pea and walking into the classroom. The petite girl sat beside her brother, noticing that Sweet Pea now took a seat at the desk right behind her, instead of sitting on top of a desk in the back of the room. The day passed by in a blurr for Georgia, Jughead forcing her to eat lunch at a table away from the rest of the Serpents. Her brother is oblivious to his sister's glances to the rest of the Serpents, wishing she could be sat with them like she was the night before instead of sitting isolated with her brother to prove a point. "W-Why don't we j-just join?" Georgia asked softly, leaning over the table to her brother. "Are you crazy? Do you want to spend the rest of your life stuck in a gang?" Jughead shot back, making the girl shug her shoulders. Most of the time, the girl would have looked away from her brother after he replied to her, but instead she stared right back at him. "It was just a thought." she muttered, her eyes locking with Sweet Pea's from across the cafeteria.
After lunch, Georgia attended the rest of her classes, some were with her brother and some she sat alone in a room full of Serpents and Ghoulies alone. Most of the time she got lucky and had either Sweet Pea or Fangs with her. But when the final bell rang, and everyone flooded into the hallways, Georgia slowly packed up her things before making her way to her locker to find Jughead already there. "I got permission to start up the school paper again." Jughead said, before the girl could even get a word out. "Great!" Georgia replied with a smile, letting her brother whisk her away and towards the old office that was once used for the paper. "A l-little dusty." the girl commented, making her brother blow the dust off of an old book.
"It just needs a little elbow grease."
