Cat squints adjusting from the sudden changes in brightness as light's swing around the mostly dark club. With a smirk on her face, she takes in the surroundings of the club as she walks inside. The place is huge with lights swinging around the barely lit room with a stage front and center. A DJ and her set taking up most of the stage hyping up the crowd in front of her. There's a bar along the right side with people in every seat, easily chatting without having to yell directly into each other's ear. And last but not least: Green. Everything and everyone was just a little bit green. Nothing less for the lucky holiday that is St. Patrick's day. With a breathy laugh, Cat turns to her two friends "You guys are crazy for this."
"Come on Cat! You've been wanting to go to the club for the past few months!" Sarah laughs in a high tinkle as she takes Cat's hand and drags her towards the back, left side of the club where a smaller, more hidden bar is. Cat turns to take in more of her surroundings, surprised that she missed such a feature in her first sweep of the room. There was no way she was that drunk just yet. Her attention is brought back to her two friends as she's practically dragged closer to the hidden, quieter part of the club.
"Plus, it's your birthday and we did our warm-ups at the Irish pubs so now on to the best part," Mia says as she trails along beside the two. "I did a lot of research," she smiles as the word 'research' leaves her lips, "in order to find a place worthy enough for your first day of legal drinking."
"And by that she means we went bar hopping while waiting for the rest of you to hit twenty-one" Sarah jumps in as the group sidles up to the bar, quickly catching the attention of the slightly frazzled looking bartender.
"I know guys," Cat laughs as she takes her seat. "I'm super excited! I've been looking forward to this for the past-"
"Two months and twelve days." Mia and Sarah interrupt Cat mid-sentence before the bartender comes over to the three girls.
"What can I get you ladies tonight?" He asks, wiping his hands on a towel. His eyes linger on Cat's two friends as he looks up to greet them properly. Honestly, the way her group looks tonight, she can't blame the man.
"Three 'pineapple and Malibu's, please," Mia answers and turns her head to face the two once again, promptly ignoring the man's gaze. He doesn't seem at all offended by her lack of attention and turns to continue on with his task.
"Anyways, it's your fault for going out to dinner with me and getting margaritas right in front of my face while I had to sip on my baby juice," Cat pouts thinking back to the 'two months and twelve days' incident that had her start her countdown. It's not hard to remember since it's not very often that only a portion of their larger friend group goes out. Actually, that might have been the last time it was just the three of them.
Sarah's playful and exasperated sigh pulls Cat out of her memory, "It was lemonade, not 'baby juice' AND we let you sip on ours, so you can't hold that over our heads," Sarah responds just as a group of boys caught her eye. Doesn't look like the birthday girl or Mia has noticed yet so she takes it upon herself to bring them to her single friends' attention "Hey Cat~" She trills, eyeing the group of 4. But there was no way she wasn't going to miss a chance to tease her best friends either, "You still looking for a boyfriend?"
"Oh my god Sarah, what is it?" Cat groans not even bothering to look in the direction she knew Sarah wanted her to glance, almost slamming her head on the table in dramatics. Almost. She already knew that she'd probably ogle whoever it was all night if he's as hot as Sarah is making them sound. But sometimes, just sometimes, Sarah has some whacky taste in men. The girl's out of practice having been in a relationship for God knows how long.
"There are four really hot guys over there," She says, causing Mia to whip her head away from the bar, hot guys being the magical word to get her attention away from eyeing the bartender. He wasn't quite doing it for her tastes though he wasn't bad either.
