Laylah's POV

I stare at my phone and contemplate whether or not I should text Vixen. Was he serious about what he said earlier? Even if he was, if I show up to his place it'll look like i'm ready and I don't know if I am.

After Vixen left, Chase and Oliver's teammates pulled them off of each other. Oliver's teammates then practically dragged him away, trying to calm him down. Our football team then said their goodbyes and were on their way. I was currently standing in front of Gwen's car, Leo and Sebastian beside me, as we watched Chase and her have a shouting match across the parking lot.

We couldn't hear anything but muffled yelling which was was probably for the best. Leo reaches over and zips up my jacket as I wrap my arms around myself to keep warm.

"What made you wear that?" He gestures to my outfit, "I mean, don't get me wrong, you look hot but it's like thirty degrees out here." He quips. I smile and thank Sebastian as he hands me a pair of black sweats from his practice bag.

"Gwen." Is all I had to say. Leo rolls his eyes in a 'should've known' manner and stuffs his hands in his hoodie pockets.

Sebastian clears his throat and looks down at me, "Want to tell us what's going on with you and Slaughter?"

I brace myself, having known it was coming. "Nothing"

Confusion washes over their faces and little did they know I was just as confused as them. I knew we weren't friends because friends don't make-out regularly and want to have sex with each other. God, Vixen Slaughter wants to have sex with me...

It's as if everything was really setting in now. It felt like I was stuck in a dream. This couldn't be my life. There's no way in a million years that a greek god would want to have sex with me. I looked up at my beautiful bestfriend across the lot and bite my lip in frustration. There were so many girls like her. She had everything. Why didn't he just fuck someone like her? Why me?

"This shit doesn't feel real."  Sebastian sighs, crossing his arms, his muscles more prominent with the movement. For a minute I wondered if they could read my mind or something but then I followed his gaze. Chase was now full blown shouting at Gwen while she stood there and cried, looking completely defeated. They were the power couple of the school. The quarterback and the captain of the cheerleading team were practically meant to be together.

"Should we be doing something?" Leo butts in. I contemplate going over there but nix the idea. This was something that they needed to sort out on their own so I leaned back and watched the scene unfold. Finally, Chase storms off and hops in his silver BMW, slamming the door shut. We all watch as he speeds out of there like he's in fast in the furious. The roads were dark and there were hardly any street lights on but I didn't have time to care about his safety as I watched Gwen drag her feet over to where we stood.

"I think it's best if we stay with you tonight." I said it as if it were a statement and not a question as I got in the back seat. She nodded in understanding, handed Leo the keys and slid in next to me.

---

I wake up to the faint sound of crying and glance at the nightstand. It was 9:30 in the morning and my head was pounding as I got up. We'd stayed up all night and drained three bottles of booze as Gwen swallowed her emotions down. She'd kept us up all night because she couldn't sleep as she bawled her eyes out and we held her as she cried. It was only about an hour ago that she finally passed out and we eagerly fell into a slumber.

Clearly that didn't last very long. I trotted over to the bathroom and pushed inside to see Gwen sitting on the counter, her arms and legs wrapped around Sebastian's athletic build, clinging on to him for dear life as she cried her heart out. She spots me and wipes her face, shamelessly on Sebastian's shirt.
