Vixen's POV

"Remind me never to get drunk on a school night again." I say as I drag my ass to the fridge for a bottle of water.

Jackson looks beyond amused as he pats me on the back on my way past, "I've heard that before."

I flip him off before taking a long swig of water. It soothes the dryness in my throat as it goes down in huge gulps. Thank fuck. Last night had been..something else. Because for the first time I had a girlfriend. I'd never wanted a girl for more than just her pussy so to say this was new would be the fucking understatement of the year. I didn't know anything about being in a relationship.

"Everything good?" Jackson asks, noticing the frown on my face. I shake my head and lean my forearms against the island. I wasn't one to sit down and talk about my feelings like a girl but right now I think I could use the fucking advice.

"I asked Laylah to be with me last night." I confess, running a hand through my already disheveled hair.

"For sex?"  He looks confused as he pulls out his phone.

I really must have made a reputation for myself because this is really what everyone thinks i'm about. No wonder Laylah's so convinced. "What? No."

He clicks his tongue, noncommittally. "So what for?"

I grit my teeth together and try to suppress my anger. I already had a raging headache. I didn't need anymore problems. "I asked her to be with me. Like all that girlfriend, boyfriend bullshit."

Jackson's shocked expression isn't lost on me as he pockets his phone and gives me his full attention. "Vix, you serious?"

"Is it really that hard to believe that I have a girlfriend?"

I wished it wasn't a drunken confession but I didn't regret it. It took me getting half drunk to come to my senses and realize that I wanted her as way more than just a fuck buddy. She was so much more than that. I'd noticed it a long time ago but I was too scared to act on it. I still was. I didn't know this feeling that I felt when I was with her. I'd never felt it until she came along. She was like a magnet, pulling me into her orbit and keeping me there, unable to escape.

"Yes. You don't date." Jackson voices, still shocked.

"I didn't date." I corrected him, already done with this conversation as I walked towards my room.

"Don't forget to check your phone." I hear the door shut behind him and pick up my phone from my bedside table. I hadn't checked it since I left school yesterday. I was too pissed to deal with anyone's bullshit. I unlock it and scroll through all of my messages. I clicked on a voicemail from Zane and put it to my ear.

"I think we should take Laylah to the beach to make up for her birthday. She wants to take Gwen with her and she asked if we could try and convince Chase to come along with us. Apparently, she wants them to make up or some shit. I'd suggest something illegal but I think it's best if we stay on the right side of his parents. You know their both lawyers. Anyways, when you get this just let me know what you think."

Zane had taken Laylah to school with him earlier this morning which meant that I had about five hours to mull this over.

---

I lower my eyebrows as Laylah comes out of the dressing room with another dress that barely covers her thighs. "So.." She waits.

"No."

"Yes."

Gwen and I say at the same time. I eye her, not saying a word. I didn't have time to deal with the backlash from Laylah if I cussed out one of her best friends. It wasn't worth it. We were currently in the mall because Gwen convinced Laylah that they needed new outfits for the beach. Saying some bullshit about how they have to look their best. Laylah already looked her best no matter what she wore. She was lucky I didn't put my hands on females because she was really starting to irritate me.
