"Get down!" Zane yells.

Everything feels like such a blur. One minute we were driving and now were being shot at. I hear the loading of a gun and chance a look up. I can see Vixen's muscled forearms as he leans out the window to shoot back. I cover my ears and try to calm myself down but i'm visibly trembling at this point.

The car swerves to the right, then takes a hard left. Please just be a misundestanding. Please. I close my eyes and try to imagine that i'm anywhere else but here.

"Lose them already!" I hear Vixen yell. "I'm trying!" Zane retaliates. The sound of tire skidding across concrete is the only thing I hear before a loud boom has my ears ringing and my head spinning. The last thing I remember is Vixen barking orders before i'm encased in a sea of darkness.

---

My head still feels fuzzy but I can make out the sound of voices whispering about something.

"You brought a girl on a dangerous pursuit. You put our lives on the line for someone you just met." Vixen spits, his words laced with venom. Are they talking about me? It's quiet until Zane breaks the silence, "What was I supposed to do-"

"Save your femenist shit for another day"

I hear Zane laugh humorlessly, "That would have been so easy for you, huh. Fuxk you Vix." I hear footsteps and then a door slam shut. I jump and my eyes fly open. Where am I? I'm lying on something soft looking at a ceiling that's so far up it could reach the sky.

"Vixen, I need you to calm down and listen to me. We'll deal with Zane later. The real question is why were the Italians targeting us?" Jacksons voice booms through the silence.

Vixen sighs in frustration and I glance over at him to see him rubbing his jaw in deep thought. God, why is that so sexy.

"I don't know but i'm beginning to think it has something to do with the girl. Our grandfathers made a truce a long time ago."

Ok, who are the Italians and what could they possibly want with me?

They exchange a look before Jackson gets up and leaves the room.

"I know you're awake" His deep voice addresses me. I sit up knowing that I wasn't fooling anyone. "What do you want from me? When can I go home?" I ask in a daze. He just stares at me. His gorgeous features shine in the lamp light sitting next to him. His glare is so intense that i'm forced to look away. "What do you want from me?" I prod but am again met with no response. He stands up and walks over to where i'm sitting. Every step he takes makes him more and more intimidating. Reminding me how dangerous he is, how big he is compared to me. He stalks toward me like he's the lion and i'm his prey.

My breath hitches as he stops right in front of me. He's taller and bigger up close than I imagined. His groin eye-level with my wandering eyes. He tilts my head up to look at him, straining the muscles in my neck. His authoritive voice is the only thing relevant at the moment as he speaks, "Who sent you?"

I'm caught off guard by his question and confusion washes over me, "What do you me-"

He grabs me by the neck and yanks me up, "Don't make me repeat myself". I shiver at the icy baratone in his voice. Even standing at my full height I reach a little below his chest, my neck pulsing with dissent. "Let me go" I choke out. Anger radiates through me at the fact that he thinks he has the right to lay a hand on me. He sneers and bares his teeth like an animal waiting to strike, "Stubborn", he tightens his hold on my neck, cutting off my air supply, "Let's see how stubborn you are when I-"

"Let her go" Zane's voice washes over my ears and I never thought i'd be so happy to hear it. Vixen stares at me, clawing at him as if he's contemplating wether he should snap my neck on sight or let me take another breath in his presence. "Come on Vix. You can interrogate her tomorrow. The right way" Zane reasons. Vixen scoffs and his grip reluctantly falls away. I heave air into my lungs, clawing at my neck to make sure I hadn't just imagined what happened.

I look up at the gaze of a monster and without thinking my hand whips across his face. I gasp, the realization of what I just did setting in. He slowly turns his head back to me, his face contorting in barely contained anger. The vein in his neck ticks as he speaks, restrained "Get her out of here". That's the only warning he gives before i'm practically dragged out of the room. I'm taken down a series of stairs before coming face to face with a black steel door that's password protected. The bodyguard standing next to the door, unlocks it and goes back to his military stance.

"Where am I?" I asks one of the two bodyguards that escorted me down here but he doesn't spare me so much as a glance as he motions for me to get on the bed. I comply, not wanting to encourage him to use any one of the firearms on his belt. It's only when I feel cold metal touching my skin that I notice the chains attached to the bed. Why am I being chained? I need to get the hell out of here. The bodyguards leave the room and I hear the clicking of a lock.

Of course with my luck I managed to get ditched by my date and kidnapped all in the same day. I look around for anything that could resemble a weapon or source of escape but the room is small and empty except for the chair in the corner that is diagonal of the bed. I scream at the top of my lungs and try to pull at the chains but it's no use. Nobody's coming to save me. I'm alone. When I finally give up there's nothing but silence that can be heard. My head dips from the exhaustion of today and I silently cry myself to sleep.

---

My mouth feels like sandpaper and my head feels heavy as I lazily open my eyes. I almost jump out of my skin when I see Vixen sitting in the once vacant chair in the corner. He stares at me as if i'm a bug on his shoe, a waste of time that he'd rather not deal with. He tentatively downs a glass of whiskey in one gulp and sets the empty glass on the floor before leveling me with his glare.

"You are so lucky you're not spitting blood from the stunt you pulled yesterday" His tone is so cold I could practically feel the air wafting through me. I scowl at him and spit in his direction, "Fuck you". His glare is icy, "Let me tell you how this is gonna go. I'm gonna ask the questions and you're going to answer them. It'll be as simple as you make it. Now, who sent you?"

Anger and confusion cloud my mind as the repeated question from the night before rings in my ears. What does he think i'm involved in?

"Who do you think I am?" I ask, since he clearly doesn't recognize me. It's not like I expected him to anyway. In the real world we probably wouldn't even cross paths. God forbid he ever spared a glance at me.

"I think that it's fairly convenient. A girl walking alone in the rain, maybe somebody did a little favor for a favor. Maybe a little spy or informant."

"What are you trying to say?"

"I'm saying that i'm not stupid." He gets up abruptly and stalks his way over to the bed until his face is inches away from mine. "You tell Klaus, if he has a problem he can take it up with me himself."

Anger flows through my veins so strongly that i'm actually grateful to have chains holding me down. I pull against them until they take me as for as I can go which is no more than an inch away from his face. I do my best to act like he's not effecting every nerve in my body from his proximety. "I don't care if you believe me or not but I have no idea who the fuck Klaus is and I don't appreciate you trying to accuse and hold me hostage as if I did something wrong. Let. Me. Go."

He steps away from me as if just realizing that i'm telling the truth, "Don't think for a second that we're done here." His tone implies that he'll be back and I find myself heaving a big sigh of relief as he leaves the room. Maybe when he comes back he'll let me go. Apologize and tell me he has the wrong person.

I lean back into the bed, my head resting against the headboard. I can't even belive my own lies that i'm spewing in my head.

There's no way he'll let me go that easily.
