It took mere seconds before I recognised the scent.Benji.
It took me a bit but eventually I gave into the hug, placing my face into his shoulder, trying my hardest to hold back my tears.
But then he uttered the words "it's okay" in that silvery voice of his. Words can't quite describe all I felt in that moment. The only way to put it is that, that hug helped pick up all the pieces of my shattered heart and put them all back together.
In that moment it was all..okay.
I started to repeat those words in my head to try and find comfort in them but the more I did the more I realised..that wasn't Benji. I ripped away from the hug to see the guy that was beating up Benji..wearing his hoodie.
"Why do you have that?"I snapped
"Oh, sorry to break it to you but your little vampire friend is gone. My buddy took care of that for me " he snickered
"He's..he's what?" I stuttered
"Well since you seem strong enough, we thought we'd go for the weaker link first, poor guy, huh" he said in a overly sarcastic tone
"He isn't a vampire!" I screamed
"what" he said quietlyI brushed through my hair with my fingers, I fell to my knees because I wasn't strong enough to keep myself standing any longer. Tears pouring from my face like a stormy day in mid December. My world was collapsing right in front of me and I couldn't even get up from the floor. He started to walk away, that walk quickly turning into a run.
I just curled into a ball and stayed in that, once again, vacant hallway, alone. My heart began to break, this time beyond repair. It wasn't fair, that he was gone forever and I was still here,I would die over and over again if it meant he could live.
