"How long has this been going on?" Linda asked me with her hand stretching to my knee.

"Since my father got deployed for the first time. So three years. Please do not tell anyone. All I need is a place to go when my step mother is there."

"It has been way too long. You need to leave." Krys was comforting me with a hand on my back.

"No. They will stay here when ever they need to, you are always welcome here." Talla and Linda were holding hands and so were Krys and I.

"You should open your present." Krys had a grin on his face. Ripping open the wrapping paper I was a box.

"Just want I always wanted, a box!" I laughed and lifted the top part of the box. A silver and synthetic diamond necklace and matching bracelet was my first impression of the gift, but there was more. I removed the tissue paper to see a rose and a plaid, masculine shirt for me. The box still felt too heavy to be empty, so I dug for the next present, "this box looks too small for all of this." Grabbing the last item I realized that it was a letter. The letter read, "Go to the back yard" and a romantic letter that I hugged as I held it to my heart. I hugged Krys from the side.

"Are you coming the yard?" Krys said as his aunts grabbed two cameras and all of us walked outside. Spelled largely with rose petals was "Military Ball?". On each rose petal was a reason he loves me. I almost cried.

Looking at him and then embracing him I felt wonderful. The military ball isn't for another four months. Krys is doing online school, but he still goes to JROTC. Pursing my lips, I awoke to the reality of two legal guardians and a little girl looking at me. "Love moderately" Krys quoted my favorite play.

"Violent delights..." I was interrupted.

"Have violent ends," Krys finished the quote.

"What a life this is?!" I laughed, throwing my arms around his neck as he lifted me from the waist.

"Shall we go inside, my lady?" Krys siad after setting my down and putting an arm around my shoulders.

"We shall," I entered the warm house through the glass door. The warmth was welcoming as it rushed to my face. I sat beck down with Krys in hand. "I apologize if I disrupted any family plans. Thank you so much for everything. I cannot thank you all enough," I hugged each of them.

"It is no problem at all. I apologize for your unfortunate circumstances." Linda made eye contact with me.

"I am going to start online schooling, except JROTC and art. I feel safer away from school, honestly feel safe here." I grabbed Krys' hand.

"So we can spend more time together. Sounds good to me," Krys giggled.

"Unfortunately I start next semester. So still a month of public school," I announced to the group.

"Hopefully nothing else happens," Talla seemed upset.

"I have another place we can hangout, while it is snowing. It is too cold for the field, but there is a spot in the woods with rocks to sit on and an area you can make a fire. I think it will be fun," he hugged me from the side.

"We should go tomorrow." I was extremely excited for the next day.
