› Kokichi's POV ‹

"Oh shut up, Kaito!" We all laughed, and Kaito just scoffed.

"WHATEVER." He huffed dramatically, rolling his eyes.

"Ooh, someone is getting mad! Do we need to call "mAki-rOll" to help calm you down?" I mocked him, giving him my signature sly smirk.

Kaito glared at me, but Rantaro and Shuichi had sparked up a new conversation that sparked the idiots attention.

I rolled my eyes, uncapping my half drunken Grape Panta.
While I enjoyed the delicious, sweet, smooth taste of my Grape Panta, I noticed a lot of water splashing around by the Ocean.

It perked my interest, and I squinted to get a better view... "Wait a minute.."

'Oh my god. Is that.. Himiko?!' I put down the panta bottle and squinted even more to see, I could make out short red hair on a head, that was struggling to keep itself above the water. She seemed like she desperately needed help, how come nobody saw this?!

Taking a very quick glance around the beach, everyone seemed to be caught up in their own thing. Nobody seemed to notice the poor, drowning Himiko by the sea.

'ugh..' I mentally groaned. I got up and started walking towards the seashore.

"Kokichi? Where're you going?" I heard - I think the voice on Rantaro? - shout at me.

Did I care about his question? No. Not really. I was pretty much Lazer focused on the drowning girl, whom I gusse I'd have to save.

I made it into the water, starting to swim over to the girl, who was flapping around like a fish out of water.

"PLEASE HELP!" She screamed, and I heard a few other people coming to see the girl in the water.

Apparently she was too busy trying to keep a float that she didn't notice me haul her onto my back. She seemed surprised as I started swimming the both of us back to shore.

"You owe me one, Yumeno..." I cursed under my breath.

› Himiko's POV ‹

"PLEA- HE-" The water muffled and muted my cries of help. I was flapping around in the water, I accidentally swam out too far and now I was paying the price by almost drowning!

"PLEASE HELP!" I managed to scream out, and a few people gathered around by the shore. Why weren't they coming to help me?! Were they just going to stand there and watch me die-

"Ah!" I quietly squealed. There was a sudden weight shift and I was hauled into somebody's back. They started swimming me to shore, it took a while but I managed to make out their mop of - now wet - Blackish-purple hair.

'KOKICHI?!?!'

"you owe me one, Yumeno.." I heard him curse under his breath. I smiled and wrapped my arms around him. Now I know why people gathered around to watch me, because they saw my hero coming to save me.
We made it to shore, and I was finally able to stand on my two feet again!

"HIMIKO!" I heard Tenko shout, before pulling me into a massive bear hug. "OMG HIMIKO! ARE YOU OKAY?!" She put me down and worriedly looked me in my eyes.

"Nyeh.. yeah... It's all thanks too-"

I looked around to see Kokichi gone. "All thanks to... Someone coming to help me." I replied.

I hope Kokichi heard me, because I just saved his butt from the wrath of Tenko.

I walked away calmly, though I had one thing on my mind: Find Kokichi, and .. thank him.

› Back to Kokichi's POV ✌️ ‹

I sat over by an area where not many people hung around. It was calm there, the waves gently brushed against my feet as I sat by seashore.

I sighed, I did not want the attention coming to me because I saved Himiko from drowning. Infact, I did not want to be teased by Kaito, Shuichi, or Rantaro because I had a crush on Himiko.

"Ughhh!" I groaned.

"Nyeh, what's got you so upset, Kichi?"

I whipped around, facing a set of copper eyes and a flock of ruby strands of hair.

"H-Himi- Yumeno?"

"Himiko," she said and took a seat next to me. "Call me Himiko. I.. just wanted to thank you for saving me earlier. I would've been dead right now if it weren't for you.." she slightly giggled.

"Hm, well it's not my fault that the idiots here are blind!" I scoffed and rolled my eyes. "Oh, and you totally owe me now."

Himiko just laughed and put her hand on my cheek, initially catching me off guard.

Then... The best part of my day happened.

She kissed me. Not in the cheek, directly Kissed me. I blushed profoundly, and stuttered, "W-W-What t-The?!"

"As a thank you," she smiled, "Nyeh, bye My hero~!" She waved and walked off to join Tenko and Angie.

I sat there, bewildered. I touched my lips, then stared at my fingers.

"My crush just called me her hero and kissed me."

I started to laugh, and then a wide smile.grew in my face.

"Her Hero..."
