The same, everyday sound of the alarm was ringing, but Jimin couldn't pay heed to anything around him. His breath was steady yet weak as his dreary body sunk into the mattress. The only sound that gave him company in the dark hours was that of his breaking sobs. You really are broken, aren't you..?

His body was too drained to move, turn or do anything, let alone switch off the alarm. But time awaits nobody and keeps running to escape from the shattering memories of the present. He couldn't disappoint himself more, could he? He didn't want to. He had to get up and leave for his university. And he finally did.

Jimin slid his blanket aside and pushed himself up on his feet, the floor too cold for his feverish body. He was not well. He hasn't been well for so long. So, so long.

Sniffling quietly, Jimin walked to the bathroom, not caring to close the door behind him. He lived alone anyways. Holding the hem of his t-shirt, he inhaled deeply and pulled it over his head. He slipped himself out of all his clothing, stepping into a warm shower.

Although it never washed his pain away.

Couple of 10 minutes later Jimin limped back into his room, a towel wrapped around his waist. The room was still dark, a lonely, dim lamp being the only source of little light. He walked to the closet, rummaging through the pile to find a few comfortable clothes. He needed warmth in those cold days.

His mood was visibly awful as he threw the clothes onto his bed, a grimace creasing his forehead. Jimin hated going to university. No, he wasn't a bad student. He was in fact a diligent one with straight As. But going there knowing he wouldn't see her, was torture.

After covering his body, Jimin mindlessly walked to his bed to sit at the edge of it. His hair was still damp from the shower. He leaned forward to open the drawer of his bedside table, taking out a box from inside. He slowly opened it, his glistening eyes taking in the shine of his treasure.

Her chain.

The pearls held together to create a piece of beauty was nothing in his eyes compared to the beauty of her. In fact, she was the reason the chain looked pretty; when it was around her neck. Jimin yearned, yearned so bad to see it around her neck again.

But mainly.. it was her he prayed to see.

Mind spinning with unending thoughts, Jimin stepped inside the building with heavy strolls. Every single step he took in those hallways, every wall, every colour visible to his swollen eyes reminded him of her.

He didn't know where she was, and that hurt; a lot.

Like every other day, the first thing Jimin did was walk up to her locker. He stood in front of it, the corners of his plump lips curving up into a sad smile.

And there, broken memory tapes of her started being played in his heart.

The view of her standing near her locker with her friends, laughing, crying and simping over kdrama actors, gossiping about the popular girl hooking up with the p.e teacher, every scenario was so vivid in his eyes, as though they were happening right then, at that moment.

She always had a smile on her face. And it was the most beautiful smile he had ever seen.

But it's been suffocatingly long since you've last seen that smile, hasn't it?
