Pokemon: Destiny in Darkness (An original stand alone story)

Chapter 1: Introduction to the New City

Ash wakes up to see ruins in his surroundings. The ruins, which are vastly stretched across his entire eyesight. Everything seems to be in shambles so he decides to look across. All he could find were metal scraps, broken bricks, shattered glasses and disgustingly, even broken human parts. Ash kept going until he heard footsteps. Since it was a big matter of security (after seeing human flesh) he decides to hide himself but the person who was walking sees him.

UNKNOWN GUY:"Hey I saw you!! What are you doing here? Well shocked but glad to see you alive" (coming towards Ash)

ASH: "I really don't know what happened. I just woke up right now and I saw ruins. I was looking around until I heard your footsteps."

UNKNOWN GUY: "OH! That means you are another survivor!! Come with me, let me take you to a safer place!"

As Ash and the other person kept walking, the ruins continued to get worse. From broken weapon equipment to literal corpses, he distances himself from those and keep walking with the Unknown person. So it's only a matter of time until Ash sees a building in the middle of a dumpyard. Definitely looks like someone built it later because it was so unaffected.

UNKNOWN GUY: (going inside the building) "By the way, I forgot to tell you my name! It's Sawyer. Nice to meet you!"

ASH: "Pretty great to meet you Sawyer! Where are we right now?"

SAWYER: "This building is called The Central Hall! This is the place made for all the survivors and basically those who need a roof above them! You can chat with many people and stay here as long as you want."

ASH:" If it's a Central Hall that means there is a whole city??"
SAWYER: "Yeah you are right! There is a city that is only accessible through this Central Hall. It was probably the only region which wasn't affected by the attacks."

ASH: "Attacks?"

SAWYER: "Well yeah, for a long time there have been various attacks in almost every region. I heard that regions like Sinnoh and Unova were destroyed completely. But that was a month ago, so we can't say how worse the situation has gotten."

ASH: "That's bad! I guess I am some of the lucky ones to have survived. Can you tell me what has happened?"

SAWYER: (Gets a call) "I am sorry Ash I would have to go now. The Hall Members are calling me. You can hang around in the Central Hall or I guess roam around the city! DON'T WORRY THERE ARE DIRECTIONS...." (Sawyer left)

Ash decides to go to the main open area which is completely occupied and yet it's so quiet. People are busy managing themselves and suddenly someone comes to you.

ASSISTANT: "You seem lost Mr! Anything you need?"

ASH: "Well I just came here right now. Can you help me get familiar with this place?"

ASSISTANT: "Oh you're a newcomer! Let me get you a member kit first!!"

ASH: "Alright! Mind explaining to me what's that?"

ASSISTANT: "It would be better if you get it first! I would be able to explain everything to you."

So the Assistant takes Ash inside the main area and towards the reception. After giving all the details, Ash gets himself a member kit. It consists of some basic clothes, one payment card, a map for the city and an id card.

ASH: "Thanks for everything. Now I need some explanation because I am still clueless."

ASSISTANT: "I understand. Now let me explain: This is the member kit. We have given this to every individual who has entered the Central Hall and decided to live in the city. With this member card, we can always track your location EVEN when you go outside the Central Hall. You can also contact us with the help of this member card. Just swipe this card on any phone booth and dial the number. This is basically your id card, if you think about it that way."

ASH: (Opens the Map) "This city is huge isn't it?"

ASSISTANT: "Haha! Yeah, it's over a thousand square kilometers big. This city is just as functional as a busy city. So as long as you are here, you can live as a normal citizen safely!"

ASH: "Also, what's this payment card for?"

ASSISTANT: "Now you have to find yourself a place to live as well right? You can find most types of housing and even share it with others to save money."

ASH: "I am having a certain question in mind. Mind if I ask you?"

ASSISTANT: "Absolutely not! Go ahead!"

ASH: "Are there any other cities like these or only this one exists?"

ASSISTANT: "We are currently in Kanto! People in the Galar region are safe and they have started to build a safety area just like this! So we have contacted the authorities of Galar!"

ASH: "Oh got it! Another question, can I stay in the Central Hall for some days?"

ASSISTANT: "Sadly you can't! We usually give everyone a member kit and make sure that they are safe. Any other questions?"

ASH: "No, not for now. I guess I can get your number if I ever had a query."

ASSISTANT: "Well you don't need to take my number. Whenever you swipe your member card on a phone booth, it has the numbers of The Hall Members already stored. If you don't know, the Hall Members are those who manage this Central Hall and the entire city."

ASSISTANT: "I may take my leave, fellow stranger! Whenever you have any query you can call me. And my name's Lisa!" (Leaves)

Ash eventually follows the routes and see the exit out of the Central Hall. After he opens the door the entire surroundings seem really different. At a moment where he was really stressed after seeing destruction, here it feels like nothing has ever happened. Ash keeps walking down a straight road which is completely crowded with bazaars.

ASH: (Thinking) "I better try to mate with an acquaintance so that they can help me."

He sees one girl coming in front of him and recognizing that he was a newcomer. (Ash's clothes are in a bad condition) She decides to talk to him.

GIRL: "You look like you just came here!"

ASH: "Yeah you are right! I was inside when Lisa was explaining to me about this city."

GIRL: "Oh her! Brilliant assistant. Anyways, I wanted to ask you something. Currently I am looking for a second person to stay with us in a 1 BHK house. Would you like to stay with us? It will help us a lot."

ASH: "You really think we 2 can manage in a 1 BHK house?"

GIRL: "Don't worry about that! It's spacious enough to fit even 3 people!

ASH: "I guess I would stay with you then. May I know your good name?"

MARNIE: "Sure, my name's Marnie! Nice to meet you! Let me take you to my home."

So Ash agrees on going to her house and keeping his stuff inside.
