Ranboo felt heavy, dull aches EVERYWHERE as he came to, inwardly grumbling at having to face the world after such a wonderful dream he was having.

He was a King, an army pledged before him, and he had his diamond-eyed Prince at his side, his family of generals ready and waiting to conquer the world.

He sighed, snuggling deeper into the warm blankets that surrounded him, not wanting to wake up from this dream.

.....blankets?

Warmth?

Ranboo cracked his eyes open, a migraine stabbing behind them but disregarding it for coming to terms with where he was now, and what he was doing here. He was indeed covered in warm sheets and blankets, on an actual bed, in a room with actual heating. His eyes surveyed before he moved, peering from under the blanket and through his hair, seeing someone sitting next to his bed, unmoving.

He lifted his head slightly, seeing black pants, a green hoodie, and then finally a pale face with eyes closed in a light slumber.

.......he HAD to be dreaming.

Tommy was here.

And he'd been THERE.

It wasn't a sleepless hallucination, then...Tommy had really come to that battle.

And now he was here.

Ranboo shakily reached out from under the blankets, the tips of his fingers touching Tommy's leg, snapping the other awake in an instant to look at him. Blue eyes filled with tears as a smile broke over his stupid babyface.

"Ranboo..." Tommy breathed, taking the other's hand. "You're awake...how are you feeling?"

"Like shit," Ranboo rasped honestly, blinking slowly and wincing as he leaned further out of the covers to look at his surroundings. "Where are we?"

"Yotsubashi's home," Tommy replied, helping Ranboo sit up and checking over the bandages. "You made a convincing argument that Seapeekay backed up. You and the others have been out or healing for about four days now."

Ranboo thought for a moment, watching Tommy pile up some medical supplies and water, and looked over his own body. Bruises littering every inch of his chest and arms, his right hand intact but his fingers looking more frail and his left...

It was wrapped up, but even Ranboo could see that he was still missing three fingers on that hand. He had to be on some good drugs if he wasn't able to feel it, though.

"...so all that wasn't a dream..." he murmured to himself. "...that really did happen...you really were there..."

Tommy nodded, his jaw tight like he was keeping himself from crying. "...yeah," he said thickly. "...it was real." He gently took off a few of the gauze pads to re-medicate and bind them again. "...me and Sea are pretty much the only ones unhurt."

Ranboo arched a brow. "...'Sea'?"

"...Seapeekay. It's a long story."

Scoff. "I'm pretty sure you promised me a 'long story'," Ranboo replied, pausing when he saw Tommy's expression quiver, whatever dam that was holding back tears starting to waver. "...or, you know, it can wait-"

"No." Tommy re-wrapped Ranboo's shoulder, swallowing hard. "...I told you I'd explain, and I will." He finished checking over Ranboo's other injuries -spreading down to a dislocated knee and fractured leg Tommy could do nothing about- before fetching some water for Ranboo to drink. "...where should I begin?"

Ranboo took several long gulps through his straw before leaning back against the pillows.

"...where you think the beginning is."
