"I CAN'T DO this. I can't stay here." I mutter into her thigh as I lay with my head on her lap whilst she gently comb her fingers through my curls, trying to calm me down from the war that's going on inside my head and heart.
"I know this is tough for you, but do you really think running away from the problem is the way to solve it?" The pain in her voice makes my chest tighten as I know the decision I've made will break not only myself, but a whole lot of other people as well, including my family and Bella.
"Solve what exactly? There is nothing to solve, Bella. Kendall broke up with me since she has fallen out of love...with me." She stays quiet, waiting for me to continue. "I guess me hiding behind closed doors and letting her do stunt after stunt with people I don't like while I am the supportive boyfriend just wasn't enough for her. She obviously wants someone who is both an idiot and a liar and someone who can't be trusted by anyone." I shrug nonchalantly and close my eyes to keep Bella from seeing the horrible feeling that's breaking me down from inside and out.
"I've already told you this, but I'll say it again. I think you would stay and fight for her as you clearly love her. And it's just something weird about the whole situation with her and Devin. But like I also said, it's your decision, Louie." I look up and see the younger girl bite her lip as a way to keep her emotions at bay, and the thought of my next words breaking her down makes me feel like the villain in the story.
"I'm sorry. I just can't." ______________
