"NOBODY SEEMED TO like our date." I announce to Tim as we are sitting on his front porch, drinking beers and talking. "The people in your comment-section was very against it, Timmy."
"Well, if this was a date..." I frown as I wait for his next worlds. "...wouldn't you have brought me flowers then?"
A small chuckle escape me and I decide to play along. "About that...well, you see, I bicycled here. And because of that, I was too focused on keeping my balance and keeping my legs in motion...so I didn't see this little cat, that ran onto the road, until it was too late. I just saw it when it was less then a meter away from me. So...as I came there on my bicycle in full speed, my only solution was to drastically turn my bike to the left as to not run it over. But because of that, I tripped and landed right on the ground." Tim laughs in confusion as well as interest when I tell my obvious lie.
"Okay. But what does that have to do with flowers?" He scratch the back of his neck, keeping his eyes on me who's trying to tie a connecting lie.
"Well, the flowers obviously were the ones I landed on when I fell. Yep, that's it." I wink at him as I click my tongue and point a finger-gun at him.
"Yeah, obviously." He wrinkles his eyes and lean back in his chair, turning his head away from me to look out into his garden. Tim changes the topic. "It's really nice here, you know. Away from America and just spending time here in this small city. Or maybe it's not exactly a small town, but it's smaller then what we're used to."
"Yeah..." I mutter as I purse my lips, trying to think of a way to be upfront with him. "...but, well, it's not like we can stay here forever. At some point we have to go back home and face reality." He nods slowly.
"Of course, but that doesn't have to be now. I like to just be here in Stockholm with my best friend." I keep my eyes on him, trying to read him whilst he starts drumming his fingers on the armrests. "It feels nice to just have a chance to be away from everything. I know we have spent quite some time here now, but I wouldn't mind being here for longer."
"You don't miss your family?" His head snaps in my direction at my question. My confused gaze meet his face that says 'are you serious?!'.
"Bro, you think I don't miss my family? I obviously do. Who wouldn't? If not you're probably not human. Instead you're like some sort of alien." A small chuckle slips past my lips, the sound making a small smile appear on his as well.
"But we've spent so much time away." He nods, agreeing with me.
"Maybe, but come on, we're grown up. It's not like they can be like 'you got to come back home'." His voice drops an octave as he imitate what our families sound like.
