Pull me closer, even when I push you away.
God knows I'll fight, but I need you to stay.

What Amartya hadn't realized was that he told the news to his very hyperactive brother, just a few meters away from their home, so when Ved had sped his way into an unknown Ashton Martin outside the gates of the AmarVani mansion, the scene that followed was very obvious. The brothers scuttled their way out of Amartya's Jaguar, as the guards rushed to their aid, noticing smoke running out of the dashboard of the Ashton Martin.
"Narayan Garu, who's car is this?" Amartya said, inspecting the tragic sight in front of him.
"Amartya Garu, this belongs to one of the guests."
"We have guests?" Amartya asked, glancing at the preparations he could notice from afar.
"Yes sir, your mother had organized a Holi Gala, followed by a brunch." The head of security informed Amartya, as he heaved out a loud sigh, people and social gatherings gave him anxiety and he did not want himself to land like he did, the last time.
"Ved, call your mechanic, let's take care of this before the state of the car breaks the owner's heart." Amartya ran a hand through his thick locks, already feeling uneasy anticipating the horde of people inside.
"Ved?" He turned around when he had not heard from his brother, who was, he thought, was just next to him.
"Ved, did you hear me?"
"Anna, you are going to be, to be, a dad?!?" Ved was staring at nothing in particular, in a distance if you will, as he still processed the news his brother had delivered.
"Shhhh!" Amartya jolted him out of his lost state of mind, shushing him down as he did not want all of the staff to know, just yet.
"YOU ARE GOING TO BE A DAD?!?!" Ved whispered, making Amartya smile inwardly.
"Yes, now can you please call the mechanic?"
No matter how hard Amartya tried to keep his calm, he felt the joy bubble in his heart, the immense joy of becoming a father. For the first time in years, he did not feel furtively happy, the bliss he felt did not feel borrowed or prohibited, and it was the freedom this feeling brought with itself, that made Amartya, even more, happier about welcoming Sia, that too as his own child. The luxury to be able to father Sia almost made Amartya tear up, just by the thought of it.
"How did this happen, Anna?" Ved held onto Amartya's arm as he had turned around, bringing his attention back to the wrecked car.
"What?"
"I mean, I always thought you were the quiet one, the perfect one, I never thought you would have a child like this-" Ved scooched forwards, whispering into his brother's ear.
"Like what?" Amartya did not want to take offense, but he was intrigued as to what "ways" did his brother imagined.
"I mean, like this - with your girlfriend, out of a wedlock-" Ved looked up at his brother's face, for he couldn't have imagined Amartya to be the furtive one.
"No! No. I am not having a child with a girl for god's sake!"
"Oh, Anna, are you, I mean-"
"Ved, for the last time, I am not gay."
"Okay so let me know if I am right, you are becoming a dad, but not your girlfriend's child?"
"I don't have a girlfriend."
