A Reasonable Assumption

Striker kissed me again long and slow. I let myself fall into the kiss, pacified by his confirmation. We were together, the whole thing at the bar had been a misunderstanding. And he had confirmed what I really wanted; we were exclusive.

"Better now, darlin'?" His voice was soft when we finally pulled apart. I nodded, making him smile, his one gold tooth glinting in the soft light.

"Come on," Striker said, pulling me towards the couch, "Let's order something to eat and put on a movie."

To be honest, that sounded good to me. After the emotional turmoil, I didn't want to deal with anyone else. It felt like it would be too much.

An hour later, Striker and I were curled up on my couch with a pizza and watching Red Dawn. By now, my nerves were finally healing and I felt more normal. Leaning back, I set the empty plate off to the side and said, "I'm sorry about jumping to conclusions..."

Striker raised an eyebrow, "Why, darlin'? It was a reasonable assumption. I'm just thankful you didn't hire some rodeo clown to off me."

"What?" Now I was confused.

Shrugging, Striker grabbed another slice of pizza, "Forget about it, you would have had to been there."

There are a number of bots sharing links on people's stories. These bots will usually have a woman's name followed by five or six numbers. DO NOT CLICK THE LINKS. It could potentially download a virus. I am reaching out to Wattpad about this and see if there is anything that can be done.
