After the accident that happened Lizzie went back to check on Dean. She knew her brother well enough already and knew how he'd be feeling after hurting her, even by accident. Unlike when he attacked Bella last year and she had to spend an entire night trying to hunt him down in the woods, Dean was standing there waiting for Lizzie.

"Lizzie, I didn't... I'm sorry."

Lizzie looked him over before slowly approaching. Dean immediately stepped back to avoid any contact between them, but she caught his wrist and stopped him in place. He didn't feel hot anymore if anything his skin was colder than hers and she'd just been in the river.

"Liz--"

"It's okay, you're fine," Lizzie cut him off and hugged Dean.

The Cullens watched from a short distance and so did the wolves. Jacob was ready to push his imprint out of the way at any second, but the need never came. Jasper could sense the emotions of the two, especially Dean as Edward read their minds. The two brothers shared a quick look between them before both's postures relaxed a bit.

Everything was okay now, but still, Dean needed to learn serious control when it came to his gift. Pyrokinesis, the ability to conjure and control fire with only his mind was something dangerous when it came to being a vampire. But somehow Lizzie guessed it suited Dean well, both emotionally and physically.

She pulled away from him and grinned. Dean wasn't as confident as his sister was, but still gave her a trying smile in return.

"Finally got your gift."

"Shouldn't you be mad at me?" Dean asked hesitantly.

Lizzie frowned at the question before simply shaking her head. "Why the hell would I be mad at you? You had no control of it."

"I know, Liz. But that doesn't--"

"Dean, I'm fine," she cut him off as Jasper walked up to them.

"It's over now," he told Dean. "You'll need to learn how to control it quickly, preferably before we have to face off with the newborns."

"Your gift can give us a great advantage, Dean," Carlisle added. He didn't want to push the Winchester, but if Dean could manage his pyrokinesis then there was a chance that his family would almost definitely make it out of this war unscathed.

"I'll try... But how?"

"We'll help you," Lizzie reassured.

"Meaning I'll be training you," Jasper corrected his sister, who rolled her eyes but grinned at him. "We'll take a break for now and start working on your gift by tonight."

"We don't have the luxury of a break," Rosalie deadpanned.

"He'll be ready," Jasper reassured.

"Kitty," Carlisle murmured to his eldest daughter. "Jasper knows what he's doing. Let's all go home for the time being."
