I sighed and looked at her picture. This was the only picture we have; in fact, us three were on this photo, but there is a hole where he would be. It's nicer if it's only me and her.
I grabbed one of the pieces on the chess board, it was the black king. If this piece represents me, then he is the white king. I've read somewhere that the white party had a much higher chance of winning than the black party in chess; I don't know if it's true, but if it is, then I'm definitely the black king. I want the white queen, but they're always with each other.
What would happen if there were two white kings? Or a white prince? That's how we were before, but the queen changed it all with just one sentence. That cursed sentence was the reason why I'm the black king now. It's all their fault, but I'm not the most mature myself. I'm an incredible strategist, but I'm nothing more than a pawn when it comes to these kinds of stuff.
I grabbed the side of the chess board and closed it. As the pieces inside dropped noisily, I saw something beneath the part I just lifted. I had a portable board that I could fold into two; and under the right side, the side that I just lifted, lay a single letter. But... I'm certain nothing was there when I opened the game board, so how did this envelope get under here...?
It had beautiful, intricate yellow designs on the envelope that tied the stamp together. I've never seen this kind of seal on a letter before, this looks both important and classy. I couldn't bear to rip it open, I looked around for something sharp. Uncle isn't home, I'll just use his letter opener.
After cutting the seal and making it burst in a brilliant sun-like flash, I took the contents out. Three wishes? That sounds stupid, but it hurts nobody to try.
First thing I would want is money, who doesn't want money? The second is maybe... my family to love me? But no, I also want her to love me as well. Then, I should probably write... What should I write for third? I mean... I've built my whole life on becoming a great leader and strategist, so I might as well wish to become a great leader in the future.
After the lead on my pen left the paper, the letter disappeared mid-air. I was already confused, and this didn't give any answers. After that I heard something metallic... like a really, really sharp knife. No, it wasn't a knife, a knife isn't that long, this is a sword. It's behind me.
I turned around and there stood a man with yellow hair and royal clothing, a king was the only world I could explain him with.
"Greetings, Alfonso the First. Shall we begin?"

Wednesday - 26th of February
"How can Ragnar think that deeply?" Dustin whined next to us as we walked to school. "My brain hurts, literally."
"Same," Liz agreed.
"At least nothing happened this week." I said with a smile.
"Nothing happened yet," Liz grinned. "I feel the souls telling me an opponent is approaching!"
"Come on, Liz," I laughed. "You said the same thing yesterday as well. You're just saying the same thing until it finally happens."
"N-no! I'm serious this time!"
"Poor Liz," Dustin patted her head.
When we arrived there, I made eye contact with someone I never wanted to talk with again. What was he even doing there? He never stands there on his own like that.
"Isn't that...?" Dustin mumbled.
"Yeah, it's him," Liz finished for him. "I forgot he even existed, we've been so busy with Lights and hosts."
