hisano just obeyed and ran freely through the flowers, she spun in circles with her arms spread out like a bird.

he watched her silently, the breeze blowing through her hair. he couldn't just stand there anymore so he ran after her.

"woah." she got startled when he started to run at her.

out of instinct, she ran away and he continued to chase.

"you're slow!" she taunted, he sped up.

the girl kept looking back at him and laughing, she didn't even realize what was awaiting for her in front.

her foot tripped on a rock and since he was so close, he tried to prevent her from falling. instead, he fell with her.

they breathed heavily while they turned to lay on their backs on the soft grass. he turned his head and stared at the side of her face.

a hair on her face was blocking his view of her, so he tucked it away.

hisano looked at him before he spoke, "where's the journal thingy?" he asked

she reached for it in her skirt pocket and pulled it out, handing it to him. a super small pencil was attached to it.

he flipped to a different page and jotted something down.

- hold hands while laying down on the grass.

he tossed the journal onto her stomach, she picked it up and read what he wrote.

"from now on, we'll do everything we write down on that journal." jungwon said, the girl held her pinky out and he linked them together.

after the pinky promise, he held his hand up high. so high that she had to lift herself up to reach it.

he finished teasing her and spread out his fingers, allowing her to hold his hand.

they dropped their hands on the grass, still locked together while they stared at the sky.

"i skipped class to get that." she mentioned.

he laughed a bit, "really?"

"yup..."

"that's kind of bad." he attempted to scare her, changing his tone to a stricter one before laughing.

she sighed, "whatever, it's not a big deal."

"on the first day too?" he looked at her, impressed.

"well. i thought i'd like it there at school but, i dunno." she said guiltily

"it's fine. you don't have to explain." he reassured

it was confusing what they had going on right now. they weren't friends nor were they strangers... so what were they?

two lonely people who just coincidentally bump into each other wayyy too often...?

whatever it was, they just kept it that way. he was allowing himself to get close to her without even realizing it.

after minutes of silence, jungwon finally spoke.

"hisano. let's be friends."

hisano sat up, letting go of their hands before she turned her head at the boy who was lying down, she rested her chin on her knees while staring at him.

one arm was over his eyes so it could protect them from the sunlight, his lips were parted. a bit chapped and pink.

he said something but she couldn't hear him, she just watched his lips move so she tried to read them.

"no regrets." is the best she could get out of his silent message.

the boy slowly lifted the arm away from his eyes and averted his eyes to her.

"i'll save you." she blurted randomly, making his eyes widen. her hand was on her chest as if she was making a pledge.

observing him was the best she could do to get to know him better. she noticed how he tried his best not to give in to things.

when she first saw him, he was so emotionless.

but that changed in such a short amount of time.

it wasn't obvious to anyone else, but to her, she believed that he revealed so much emotions the more time she spent with him.

like discomfort. when she was over him and caging him in with her arms.

anger, or worry. when he scolded her for playing on the edge of the rooftop.

embarrassment. at the restaurant when he choked on his soup as he heard her words.

and today, he looked calm and at peace.

there were way more things she could list down. this boy was a lot more interesting than she thought.

did everyone get to experience this? was this the beauty of meeting someone, a stranger?

the art of how a person slowly changes the more they learn to trust someone, the more they see another set of eyes. was it just her who thought this was beautiful?

she snapped out of her thoughts and looked at the dandelion next to her hand that was on the grass.

"have you ever seen snow in spring time?" she asked him, eyes still on the dandelions.

"no." he replied, making a confused face.

she plucked out the three dandelions that were grouped together and stared at him, blowing it as the tiny white and soft fluffs flew above his laying figure.

jungwon stared at each of them flying, it was so pretty.

hisano spoke, "now you have." she smiled.

his hand reached out for one piece of fluff to land on his palm, he looked like he was in his first life. admiring everything like he's never seen it before.

a small smile appeared on his face as he repeated her words quietly,

"you'll save me, huh."
