"fine." jungwon finally agreed upon hearing that last part, "once i'm transmitted to the hospital, does that mean i can't see her anymore?" jungwon asked.

the doctor nodded, "yes. but you'll see her as much as you want once you're discharged, don't worry. okay?"

jungwon reluctantly nodded and they both exited the room, jungwon followed behind dr. seong.

"wait-" jungwon stopped him.

the doctor tilted his head and that was jungwon's que to begin speaking.

"how long do i have before i'm sent to the hospital?"

the doctor looked down, "a day. do you have contact of your dad?"

jungwon shook his head.

the doctor quickly went back into the room and came back with a folded sticky note. he gave it to jungwon, "this is your dad's number. call him once you're home."

jungwon nodded and took the sticky note. they then went to the waiting room where hisano was.

there she was, sinking into her chair while she slept peacefully.

he couldn't help but smile when he looked at her.

this girl was precious to him. the short amount of time they spent together was so special.

he just has to wait a little.

he'll wait until he's better, so that he can spend as much time as he wants with her.

he's already made up his mind.

hisano's his purpose.

she was his reason to stay.

and to keep living.

"excuse me." a lady said, tapping hisano's shoulder.

jungwon slowly snapped out of his thoughts when he realized another person came into his view of hisano.

she slowly opened her eyes. he watched her carefully.

she then saw jungwon and quickly stood up, fixing her hair before walking up to jungwon.

"what happened?" she asked.

the doctor looked at her. his eyes looked like they suddenly got filled with distress.

"he's alright. you should go home now, both of you." dr. seong said, looking at the two of them.

"but, what happened? please tell me? if he missed one appointment, it doesn't mean anything, right? he's only missed one." hisano said, hoping the doctor would explain everything they talked about in the room. "he's okay, nothing bad will happen, right...?"

in reality, jungwon's missed many. he's missed many appointments in the span of 2 months.

"yes, he's fine. don't worry, now go home. your parents must be worrying about you guys." he guided them to the door.

jungwon gulped at his comment. the moment he said 'parents' just made him shiver.

they both exited the clinic and stood awkwardly, backs facing the door.

hisano clenched her fists.

"pfft. parents? as if they'd realize i was even gone." she chuckled before looking at jungwon.

he stared at her blankly before holding her hand.

she just looked at him, confused.

"there's so many things i want to do still." jungwon smiled, "but we'll have to wait, okay?"
