"hey." jungwon replied.hisano took a step to the side and hesitantly passed by him, she didn't ask to spend more time with him like she usually did. she didn't ask him anything like, "what are you doing here?" or, "where'd you go?"
she seemed uninterested and like she didn't have time.
he felt a bit hurt.
so, before she got away, he held her wrist back.
her eyes widened and she turned her head, "laundry boy?" she asked quietly while looking at is hand that wrapped around her wrist.
he continued to keep his gaze on her.
from all the times he ran away...
it never felt as good as when he was with her.
and the times when he wanted to escape meant that he would've never experienced this feeling if he did escape.
it was hard to say that he didn't love her.
because he did.
"could you let go?" she looked to the ground, "it hurts..." she lied.
and just like that, the grip he had on her loosened and she was set free. but she didn't go, she didn't leave. she just stood in the same spot.
he'd never, in a million years, let her go so easily.
but if she suffered pain because of him keeping her close then, without a doubt, he'd let go.
even if 'letting go' seemed almost impossible.
as she stared at the floor with her arms down on her sides, balled in fists, he could see her face start to scrunch up like she was holding in a cry.
"u-um." she stammered, her throat was making her voice crack a little.
she looked up with a face holding back tears, her eyebrows were so furrowed that it made a crease in between her brows, "you shouldn't have let go!" she says, trying to make him feel regret.
she was on the verge of tears, but not once did she let a tear fall.
"because now, i'm leaving for good!" she 'hmphed', trying to keep a tough look on her face, "you hear me? for g-o-o-d."
for some reason, the things she said made him just want to laugh. but he held it in so she could let it all out.
she looked down, mood suddenly changing,
"that was a lie." she admitted.
"...i didn't have to let go." he said
she lifted her head, "huh?"
"i didn't have to, but you said it hurt. so, of course i'm going to let go of you." he replied quietly.
she shook her head, "no, it didn't hurt. here," she said, grabbing his hand and wrapping it around her wrist, "it never hurts when you hold me like that."
