After my confession that night, Sybil has been slicking with me like glue. But I didn't mind. He would wait for me outside the dorm just like when he was courting me, nothing ever changed.
In meetings, he would sit still beside me and take notes with me. Then after, we would compare our notes and fill in the missing details in my report. I'm not comfy with 'us' yet, but I'm starting to understand what to be in a relationship.
"Let's go on a date later, m'lady." I smiled at him and nodded. We're walking out of the Hoshizora meeting hall, Sybil holding my hand.
His hand fits mine just perfectly.
I was swept off my feet on our way to the cafeteria.
"OMG, girl! You never told us you were already going out!" Altair exclaimed, and the one who dragged me out from Sybil.
"Since when did the two of you become official?!"
I was pretty shy, but I answered, "Yesterday," I whispered. But Altair having an ear as big as an elephant heard it and shrieked.
She looked at me and back to Sybil—who's, by the way, not far from where we are; Altair giggled one last time and said.
"Okay, then. I'll leave you two behind, but I will interrogate you when the girls aren't busy! I can't wait to tell them the news!" Then after exclaiming that, she went on her way, humming and galloping all the way through.
I shook my head, seeing Altair walking away. That girl is nuts; interrogate me? That's crazy talk... but I know my friends would do that.
"Is something wrong?" I heard Sybil's voice just around my back. I faced him and grasped my hand in his as I led us inside the cafeteria.
"Oh, nothing. I just changed my relationship status."
"What?!" I chuckled at Sybil's remark. We ate our lunch together; we encountered Sybil's friends—-Ash and Ryle.
"I have something to do this afternoon; let's meet—-" I softly squeezed Sybil's hand, which made him cut off. On our way out, I saw a very familiar man I hadn't seen in a while, talked to in a time, and the best friend who only wanted to protect me. I miss him.
Maybe, it's time to talk about things about us. I've overcome the nightmare I suffered so much with that they tried to protect me.
I faced Sybil, staring straight into his eyes.
"I'll have to talk to Brix." I exclaimed, "See you later." I was about to leave, but Sybil tugged my hand and made me face him.
"Why?" I could sense jealousy and anxiousness in his voice. I cupped his face.
"No need to be jealous; Brix and I are just friends," I stated.
"I'm not jealous," He softly said. I smiled widely at him.
"Yeah, yeah!" I exclaimed and went on my way.
"Hey, I'm not jealous!" I even heard Sybil's voice from the back, and I chuckled. That's Sybil's side you don't see every day.
I followed where Brix was heading. And as expected, he was headed to the Hanabi building.
"Brix!" I yelled; wow, I feel like it's been so long since I've uttered his name. He looked back at me as if he was already expecting me.
When he stopped, I took the chance to go for him. And the first thing I did, was the last thing I expected I would do.
I hugged him. I almost cried, but I didn't, of course. After our little hugging scene, we settled on a bench nearby.
"How have you been?" He first asks. "Lille, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to keep it from you; I just did it because I think it's—-"
"Brix, I understood everything that you did and... I'm also sorry for putting all the blame on you. Let's turn in a new leaf, huh?" I exclaimed. He seemed surprised at first but then smiled. It's all in the past now.
"I didn't expect I tried to protect you when you can protect yourself well," Brix said, smiling at me from ear to ear. Subsequently, we continued our chat with topics we didn't have for a few months. We laughed and talked about our classes and our other embarrassments. Until we came to the case...
"Hey, I heard you and Sybil are a thing now. Is it true?" The tone of his voice is very teasingly. I rolled my eyes; I guess news travel as fast as light too.
I smiled, "Yeah." I looked at him teasingly too. "What about you and Asteria?" I teased. I laughed hard at his expression; I had never seen this side of Brix too. Since childhood, I never saw Brix blush!
"I haven't forgotten the little 'So, you know that you're my owner' stuff." And I even recall the severe expression on Asteria's face when she asked me once if Brix and I were a thing.
"It's kinda complicated," I shook my head at his remark. Really? Kinda complicated?
We continued teasing each other; we parted ways after that.
I feel like a burden in my mind has finally cleared up. I went directly to class, and all we had were lectures and a few written works.
"Hey," A smile formed my lips when I saw who it was. I heard Sybil's voice the moment I got out of class.
"Sybil," I prolonged, exclaiming his name.
"I'm so tired today. What about you? How's your day?" I uttered and hugged him, then rested my head on his chest. I closed my eyes because it seemed so heavy. Then just a minute after, I felt a hand caressing my hair and hugging me back.
"It's also so tedious," he whispered. We stayed in that position for a couple of minutes.
"Let's go," I let Sybil drag me somewhere.
I smiled where he led me. Since this morning, I can't help but smile, especially when I'm with Sybil. I can't believe that he is my boyfriend now.
Sybil sat on the grass and leaned in a tree here in Ahava, and I settled right next to him.
I leaned on his shoulder.
"Lille, Ash invited me to play basketball with him. Can I?" I looked intently at him.
"Sybil. You don't need to ask me permission; if you want to, then you should do it."
He faced me, "I just want to do things you don't want."
I held his hand. "It doesn't matter whether I like it, as long as you do. I'll support you in anything."
"But I'll be busier if I do," I gave him a 'really' face.
"Then, I could come to you. That's not a problem, don't complicate it." I exclaimed. If we didn't get to talk about this, could this complicate our relationship?
That night we spent talking and just... giving each other rest. Do you know the feeling that you're just comfortable and you found rest when you're with that someone?
I felt all that only from Sybil.
